This is the pop/country crossover we actually need.

Lukas Nelson shared a recording of a very bluegrass take on Adele’s “Someone like You,” which he sang with bluegrass band The Travelin’ McCourys ahead of a DelFest appearance next weekend.

Written by Adele along with Dan Wilson, the song of course became a huge hit when she included it as the second single for her 2011 second studio album, 21. It became her first #1 single in the UK, and her second #1 in the U.S. after “Rolling in the Deep.”

And as we all know, every pop artist under the sun (okay, not literally, but you get the point) is jumping into country music in some form or fashion right now, from Post Malone to Beyoncé and even Zayn Malik, but this is the kind of crossover I much prefer.

Obviously, the song sounds completely different, but I’m obsessed… Lukas has such incredible range and talent that I think he could make any song sound this good, and honestly, bluegrass isn’t ever my go-to or favorite genre, but I could listen to this all day long.
