The title sounds like a plot for a really good sports film.

Dinamo transferred Edgar Ie, but Edelino, the defender's twin brother, would have ended up in Săftica Journalist Daniel Șendre, former spokesman for DDB, revealed on Facebook that "Dinamo officials suspect that Edgar Ie is not Edgar Ie", Edelino Ie, the twin brother of the former Barcelona defender, arriving at Săftica.

Edelino, who was a teammate of Edgar's at Sporting's juniors, has played for teams in Portugal's lower divisions over time. He was out of contract in January after parting ways with Resende.

According to Cristi Coste, editor-in-chief of Fanatik , the footballer who arrived at Dinamo would have lost his way on several occasions: he only uses Portuguese (although Edgar speaks English) and would have refused several times to present his driver's license.

"Let me give you an exclusive piece of information about Edgar Ie. Things tend to clear up at Dinamo. The suspicions of the officials there are older. They have been trying to terminate him for 5-6 weeks.

He didn't want to terminate. The most interesting information, aside from the fact that he was known to speak English, but he couldn't speak Portuguese... two months ago he wanted a car from the sponsor. He had it in the contract.

He refused to produce his driver's license. It was the first time a red light was lit at Dinamo. He refused non-stop. This event was one of the reasons that made the people from Dinamo question themselves" - Cristi Coste at Fanatik SuperLiga .

Justin Ștefan, general secretary of the Professional Football League, stated that the forum is waiting for the clarification of the situation: "We do not want to make any comments in the case of Edgar Ie. When we have a position, we will issue a statement".

According to Transfermarkt, Edgar Ie had a market cap of €7.5m (January 2022) and is now valued at €1.3m. Edgar Ie collected 240 minutes in the 5 matches played in Dinamo's jersey. Former doctor at Dinamo: "A DNA test takes three months. You can find out in 10 minutes who the person from Săftica is" Dinamo would also consider performing a DNA test, but Dr. Adrian Motoacă, specialized in sports medicine (ex-Dinamo, currently employed at Unirea Slobozia), says that the true identity of the footballer can be found out easily.

"Doesn't this boy have a biometric passport? Was it not verified at the time of transfer and when was the contract made/edited? On top of that, from what I understand, Edgar had knee, ligament and meniscus surgery. At the medical control, Dinamo should have reported.

A sports doctor usually sees, consults, takes an anamnesis of the newly arrived player and presents the current medical situation of the player to the staff. It is unforgivable not to see a scar or from the anamnesis (the first step in the clinical examination of a patient - no) not to realize whether or not he was operated on.

If he hasn't been and doesn't have post-operative signs, he's clearly not Edgar! This with the DNA test is stupid! A DNA test takes three months!

The easiest is to go to the Immigration Service. In 10 minutes, find out who the person from Săftica is! Plus we have the Consulate of Guinea Bissau. I go in the car with my passport, together with the team manager or sports director from Dinamo... I forgot, Dinamo doesn't have such a thing (ironic tone - no)" - doctor Adrian Motoacă , in an interview for GSP .

How Dinamo introduced Edgar Ie In mid-February, Dinamo announced that it had obtained the services of Edgar Ie, a defender who moved to FC Barcelona at the beginning of his career and who was quoted at 7.5 million euros.

Free since January 30, after the conclusion of the contractual relations with the Turks from Basaksehir, central defender Edgar Miguel Ie is the new player of the Dinamo team as of Sunday.

Aged 29, born in Bissau, Edgar Miguel Ie has dual citizenship, Guinea-Bissau and Portugal. He was in the Guinea-Bissau national team at the Africa Cup, which started last month, being an integral player in the match against Nigeria, 0-1, on January 22.

Trained in Portugal, at Sporting Lisbon's Football School, Edgar Miguel Ie was transferred at 18 by Barcelona. He played one match for the first team (Huesca vs Barcelona 0-4 in the Spanish Cup) and 48 for Barcelona B, then being loaned to Villarreal B.

Edgar Miguel Ie's career continues to include important names in European football, Belenenses (Portugal), Lille and Nantes (France), Trabzonspor and Basaksehir (Turkey), selections for all national teams of Portugal, under the command of Fernando Santos or Rui Jorge, matches in Europa League and Conference League" - Dinamo Bucharest.

Seems like its MUCH more serious than what the title makes one believe.

This is wild. My question is, where is Edgar then?

Maybe he is having a vacation somewhere and decided his twin brother to take this opportunity and they would split the money

If that's his twin brother tho then where is the real Edgar Ié? Just vibing at home after being released from his club in Turkey?

Nearly, but not quite as bad, as Southampton signing "George Weah's cousin" Ali Dia

God that story was great

Funny enough there is also the thing with Patrick Weah claiming to be Tim Weah’s (son of George) cousin, and Tim was like nahhh

That is hilarious. Incredible that a professional club would fall for that.

Ended up with his twin, i.e. Edelino

List now

There are probably a couple of wild stories out there. I immediately had to think about Hannover signing some Brazilian and Schmadtke who was the manager back then fought the player is in the 190cm range but when he arrived it turned out that he barely made 180cm.

It's obviously not as bad as signing a completely different person but that stuff happening to football clubs which handle millions, is absolutely insane.

Not to mention that Edgar is a central defender and Edelino seems to play as a forward/winger

Isn't Dinamo Bucharest supposed to be one of the biggest clubs in Romania? What happened to them?

They chose..... Poor lé
