The first round of the CIF Southern California Regional boys volleyball playoffs Tuesday includes Corona del Mar at Huntington Beach.

They play each other in Division I.

Corona del Mar and Huntington Beach played each other twice in Surf League matches. Corona del Mar won the first match 3-2 and Huntington Beach won the second time 3-2.

Also in the Division I first round Tuesday: Edison plays at CIF Southern Section Division 1 champion Loyola and Newport Harbor is at Torrey Pines.

In Division II on Tuesday, San Clemente plays at CIF-SS Division 2 champion Santa Margarita. St. Margaret’s, which beat San Clemente in the CIF-SS Division 3 final Saturday, plays at St. Joseph of Santa Marita.

CIF-SS Division 6 champion Samueli Academy is at Sage Creek of Carlsbad in the Division III first round Tuesday. CIF-SS Division 5 champion Sage Hill is at West Ranch of Valencia in another Division III first-round match Tuesday.

The regional playoffs continue Thursday with semifinal matches. The regional finals are May 18.

All SoCal Regional matches will be played at home-team sites at 6 p.m. GoFan.co is the website to purchase tickets for the games.

Boys volleyball does not have CIF State championships. The 2024-25 school year will be the first year of CIF State championships.
