Thank you so much to the Coolidge PTO for hosting our Teacher Appreciation Luncheon this week and for all the wonderful treats and surprises for staff each morning. Your support helps strengthen our school community and is greatly appreciated.

This week we celebrated National School Nurse Day. Please join me in thanking Mrs. Krey for all she does to keep our students and school safe.

Our May schoolwide meeting will take place this Thursday, May 16th. All students and staff are encouraged to wear spirit wear or blue/yellow to show your Cougar Pride!

Message from Mr. Cosman regarding the school musical rehearsals: Check out the updated May Calendar for this week's upcoming musical rehearsal schedule. Performers should enter through the gym doors at 8:20.   

NJSLA TESTING GRADES 3-5

Grade 3-5 students have completed two days of NJSLA testing in language arts and 5th-grade students completed two additional days of science testing. The teachers have reported that students are working very hard on these assessments, checking their work, and embracing the challenge to do their best! Please commend your children for their efforts and encourage them for the upcoming math assessments for grades 3-5 this Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, May 14th-16th. 

BICYCLE SAFETY RALLY- GRADES 3-4

On Wednesday, June 5th, the Coolidge School PTO will hold the annual Bicycle Safety Rally.  This is a day for 3rd and 4th graders to ride (or bring) their bikes or scooters to school. Helmets are required. 

Starting at 9:00 AM, individual classes will meet with an officer from the Wyckoff Police Department. The 3rd and 4th-grade students will participate in a short series of bicycle handling tests and safety checks.

If your child will be participating in the Bike Rally, please be sure that his/her bicycle, scooter, and helmet are in good working condition. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out.

WYCKOFF CONNECTED PARENT SERIES PRESENTATION

The Wyckoff Connected Parent Series presents its annual session titled “Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying (HIB)- The Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act” on May 28th at 6:30 PM in the Eisenhower School Media Center. The presenter will be Stephen Fogarty, Esq. 

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST- COMMUNITY PERFORMANCE- MESSAGE FROM MR. COSMAN

Hello Coolidge Community! 

The curtains will soon open on the 2024 Coolidge Spring Musical, Beauty and the Beast and we would love to have you be our guest! We want all members of our community to be able to enjoy the show, whether you have a student in it or not. If you would enjoy seeing our production, please join us for our Wednesday Matinee Community Performance on Wednesday, May 22nd at 1:30 PM. 

The show begins at 1:30 PM (doors open at 1:15) and you must have a ticket reservation, which is completely free. Seats are general admission and first-come-first-served. Here is the link to reserve a ticket. The portal is now open so please sign up if you are available and wish to attend.

IMPORTANT MESSAGES FOR 5TH GRADE PARENTS

Parents should view this letter for important information regarding required immunizations and health forms for Eisenhower Middle School. 

Also, the sixth-grade overnight team-building trip to Fairview Lakes YMCA Camp is scheduled for September 17-18, 2024! It is a great opportunity to meet new friends and start sixth grade with a lot of fun.  Please return this form and a down payment of $120 (written to Eisenhower Middle School) by May 24th to Eisenhower School. More information to come regarding chaperones and final payment information. If you have any questions, please call the EMS main office.

WYCKOFF SUMMER ACADEMIES

Wyckoff Summer Academies is back this July with another exciting season! Our classes, available in the brochure linked here, allow students to explore their interests, interact with others, and expand their knowledge. Again this year, we are also offering classes from Camp Invention. The program is open to all Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes, and Oakland entering Grades K-7. Classes will run from 8:20 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. a short week from July 1-3, and then each week of July 8, July 15, and July 22. Please visit the link here to register and sign up for the program.
