Cant even lie, being obsessed with smth is such a double edged sword

Like bruh, i fucking love basketball, if not for the pressure from surrounding me ppl i woulda stopped giving fucks about school and just work out every hour available, but cuz of school i only do that on holidays and summer, like ball gave me the best feelings and memories, being hyped, happily-sad going back home late after playing all day, meeting new ppl and shii. But i am not a genetic freak and i started playing just 2.5 years ago, like i made hella progress, starter in hs, played in amateur league against adults, hit 80+ free throws in a row, and 20+ threes, but the thing is, it doesnt matter, it is wasted effort and time, realistically i wont be able to make it my job, especially due to my country being corrupted and in general ball academies not even considering anyone over 13 yo, so my inability to make it my job and at the same time being so obsessed with it tears me apart, it just gets in the way of so much, I constantly think about it, i think about it while i eat shit study text w anyone anything, its iust there, its like i am sick with it
