It is crucial to understand the difference between sensation recall and emotion recall. Method Actors are encouraged to zero in on the actual sensations they encountered in their recollections, for example, the smell of the green grass as she sat. Unconscious emotions will rise to the surface naturally by focusing on this sensation recall. This ensures the actor’s emotions are more authentic than if they simply tried to use emotion recall without using the sense to trigger it.
