Greetings all. New guy here, well actually about a year ago, but just getting around to joining. Been lurking for years as the slk/slc has been on my radar. Purchased a 2018 SLC43amg just over a year ago. Coming from a Fiat spider abarth, BMW z4 (twice) and BMW 3 hardtop convertible. SLC is my fun spare car with daily driver being a tacoma TRD offroad. Absolutely love my car and driving in sport+ mode is a heck of a lot of fun. Looking forward to learning more from you all and sharing my adventures. Thanks for having me!!

It's that time of year to pay special attention to your weather seals. I've not found anything that even comes close to Gummi Pflege for protecting them Buy here: https://www.nextzettusa.com/gummi-pflege-rubber-care-stick/ or Amazon...
Hmmmm well first I'll say that the SLC captures as much of the "best of all worlds" one could hope for in a car. From cruising comfort to sporty driving, coupe, drop top it does it all. Suppose most here already know this lol. I will say the Fiat Abarth spider I had was the best handling machine I've ever owned. For those that don't know it was essentially a miata with a few italian body panels and a fiat turbo 4. Mine was a manual which is about the only thing I miss in the SLC. Driving that car was a blast. Literally handled like a go-kart. Problem going forward was fiat dealers are slowly becoming extinct and had no faith in the only dealer within 100 miles of me. Needed a bit more comfort and space for long trips hence the change. I will say I'll miss that car though. Both Z4s I've had were the earlier models ie 2003 and then an 06. Again manuals for both. Great cars. Handled well one a 2.5 six and the other 3.0 six...each more than enough for the weight of the car. Basic no frills roadsters a joy to drive. I loved the body design on those z4s and I think it still holds it's own even today. The 3 was my first hard top convertible and I got that when they first came out in 08 or 09 I believe. That was a comfortable cruiser. Mine was the lower end 328i with a slightly underpowered for the weight 6. Not nimble by any means but good overall and at the time a very cool car to have. Now I could wax poetic on my tacoma lol. Owned it for 8 years and will drive it until the thing falls apart or I do. Surprisingly fun to drive, comfortable, 20 plus on mileage typically. I have the extended cab and not the crew type so I can actually fit a sheet of plywood in my bed. 4 wheel drive for the beach and clearance for the frequent high water we get in spots during hurricane season. Lugs my toys, surfboard and paddleboard around as needed and helps with the projects around the house. Swiss army knife of trucks sums it up for me. The SLC however has quickly become my favorite car ever. When I test drove it I liked it...when I put the driving dynamic mode into sport plus I fell in love. The first time I heard and felt the aggressive down shifts and smooth as silk automatic I said oh my god I've got to have this lol. While the Amg version may only be a 6 twin turbo it is more than enough to keep me happy. For now anyway...my wandering eye is already keeping a look out for the older 8s. Must stop with those thoughts! The SLC is just perfect for me though. I love being in it. Heck I love just looking at it. Definitely the type of car that running to the store down the street for milk turns into a 20 mile drive before you know it. I'll come to the turn onto my street and think nah not ready yet...punch the gas and smile. Sorry not much technical jargon from me...I just know when I'm happy behind the wheel.
