Pluto TV expands its Canadian FAST offering with six channels

The specialty channels are dedicated to unscripted shows like Dance Moms, Duck Dynasty, and Dog, the Bounty Hunter.

Pluto TV is expanding its offering in Canada with a handful of new FAST channels.

The channels are Dance Moms (seasons one to eight, pictured), which airs episodes of the same-named reality series about the elite junior team at Abby Lee Miller’s dance studio in Pittsburgh; Ax Men (seasons one to 10), which shows different logging crews facing challenges in the logging season in various locations along the Pacific Coast; Duch Dynasty (seasons one to 11), about a wealthy family known for their successful duck hunting business; Dog the Bounty Hunter (seasons one to nine), featuring a real-life bounty hunter and his family as they chase fugitives in the Hawaiian islands; Modern Marvels (seasons two to 20), which tells the stories of the creators of everyday objects and technological advances; and Tiny House Nation (seasons one to five), which includes programs about unique tiny houses around the world.

Doug Smith, Paramount Global senior VP of streaming and content licensing, says Pluto is constantly seeking new programming opportunities for both marketers and consumers, and “these highly bingeable shows are the type of content for which Canadians keep coming back to the streamer.”

“We try to cater to as many viewers as possible by offering a wide range of channels in a variety of genres,” he says. “Some channels clearly outperform others, but we try to be a place that has something for everyone.”

Also, the more variety of channels and genres Pluto has on service, the more opportunities for advertisers to reach their desired audience, the company adds.

Pluto launches these channels after unveiling another one last week focused on Real Madrid programming in Canada. Available under the sports category, Realmadrid TV provides up-to-date club news, interviews with players, coaches, and staff members, behind-the-scenes footage, and training sessions.

The FAST service estimates that it receives over one billion minutes of viewing every month. Since entering the Canadian market in 2022, Pluto has added over 50 FAST channels. It now provides more than 40,000 hours of movies, shows, documentaries, news, and music.
