Academic Magnet High School Reviews
Rating 4.27 out of 5 296 reviews
Great school! I am always checking in with my child to see if they are still having a good experience and he has consistently said yes. He says people are nice, teachers want you to succeed and he feels safe. As a parent, I feel that this is a great learning environment and my child seems happy here!
Magnet is very rigorous in academics, so the best and worst part of the school is that all of your peers are competing with you. It is nice that your peers are experiencing the same stress that you are, but it also does not feel great when a few of your peers are recognized for their academic achievement when you also try very hard. I would like to see a little of the competitiveness decrease. It adds to a lot of stress, especially in senior year when there are so many other things to do for college in addition to high school.
In Academic Magnet High School, you meet students who are not only focused on the academics, but are also friendly and kind individuals to rely on and receive aid with in matters regarding academics, strengthening the community. For clubs and sports, the students attends them with dedication with some even attending despite their busy schedule. The school offer plenty of AP courses to gain college credit and even if those were minimized to the minimal requirement, the honors courses and teachers will teach the necessary skills to strive well in College, making it feels like a breeze compared to their experiences in this school.
