The best parts about rockwall high school is how our resource officers are always protecting our school in case of any suspicious activity that goes on our campus grounds. The worst parts about rockwall high school is most of the time, no one acknowledges students’ mental health or the amount of bullying that comes around every single day. I would hope to see a change with the district making a difference towards the school.
Rockwall High School is a great school for academics, there are about twenty-five AP Classes available, and many other advanced college classes available. Furthermore, RISD allows students to find themselves in Gene Burton Academy and Collin College. Classes here allow students to explore their career choices without the consequences of thousands of dollars going to waste. For example, some classes offered are: Clinical, dental, fashion, culinary, animation, and many more. However, RISD is behind on the inclusivity and safety of minority students like LGBTQ+. Countless times I've seen the facility turn a blind eye to harassment or differing treatment of minorities.
Rockwall High School has a substantial amount of support from its district. The school supports all of its programs and works towards college readiness from its students. While the school has a abundant amount of support, some teachers are known for not enjoying their jobs and make it at fault of the students. This is a change I would like to see to help students enjoy advancing their education, as the teachers are a heavy influence on our days.
