It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mom, grand-maman (GMa) and great-grand-maman (GGMa), Ghislaine (Joyce) Perron (nee Tremblay) on December 15, 2023.
Ghislaine leaves in sorrow her sons Michel (Colleen), Jean-Pierre (Kim), cherished grandchildren Samantha (Kevin), Alex, Jean-Luc (Ivy) Jonah and great-granddaughter Flora.
Ghislaine was born in 1937 in St. Boniface and was predeceased by her parents and her siblings, Charlotte, Yolande, Monique, Jacques, Céline and Denis. Ghislaine was a lifelong loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
Ghislaine was also a devoted member of her community, active with the Grey Nuns, Taché Nursing Centre and Centre Valade as the Director of Volunteer Services. Her unshakeable Catholic faith guided her throughout life and offered her much comfort and peace. Ghislaine had a deep love for classical music, ballet and symphonies. Her beautiful singing voice contributed to Les Intrépides, a renowned St. Boniface-based choir of which she was a member for several years, or simply by singing to whatever music was playing in the house.
Ghislaine loved being with her family in Winnipeg and Ottawa, spending time at the cottage, going for boat rides or playing games with the grandchildren. Her sharp wit and very well-developed sense of humour always brightened everyone’s day. Her zest for life was infectious and a model of being for all of us. She will be dearly missed.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Ghislaine’s care team including Dr. Olan Nayjeyu, Dr. Jonathan Gabor and Dr. Jean Prenovault in addition to the Medigroup Health Centre pharmacy team. Finally, we also wish to acknowledge and thank her many friends at Lindenwood Estates for providing a warm and caring community.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at E.J. Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald St. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ghislaine can be made to Actionmarguerite – Compassion Fund.

So very sorry to hear of Ghislaine's passing. She was always so pleasant to visit with when she came to the dental office for her appointments. The last time we saw her was when we met up at the air port before we both caught flights, and had time for a visit to catch up. I have known Joyce since I was little girl. She was my sister's dearest friend (Bev). She was so warm and endearing. Her smile and generous hugs always I will always remember. Sinceres sympathies a la famille de Ghislaine...elle etait notre voisine pour un bout de temps, ensuite on se rencontrait assez souvent dans les annees passer surtout les fetes qu'on appelait pour un bon repas ensuite le canasta et le "mexican train"domino pour finir notre soiree...moins de rencontre les dernieres annees en vieillsant.......elle etait toujours "willing" a nos folies.....repose en paix chere Ghislaine. - Posted by: Gilles & Huguette Remillard (old neighbour and friends) on: Dec 19, 2023

I will miss her. I talked to her last week and we talked about Lorette my favorite time in my life. Talked about my grand-daughter, Scarlett and she said Flora her great granddaughter was just amazing. She is my rock and was very down to earth God has an angel in heaven she is going to be missed so much. I am still in shock when I just talked to her last week. We always had a great laugh talked about Michel and JP and how she was very proud of them and that they are going on this trip on a yurt not sure that is how you spell it but well it is a huge yacht for quite a trip I said I could never do that and she said neither could she and we both laughed.
