High School DxD

Let's get it out of the way. This is an ecchi harem series, which means plenty of boobs and panty shots. It's a sexy series, and doesn't take itself too seriously in that regard. If that bothers you, this might not be the series for you. But if you're looking for a good harem series, this is definitely worth a watch. The cast isn't ground-breaking, but they're charming and you'll find yourself invested in their stories. The world they occupy is well-fleshed out, with political intrigue and an interesting "Evil Pieces" system used within Devil Society. The animation is good, the music is catchy, and exciting battles all make this is a series worth watching. A definite gold-standard for the harem genre.

This review will be completely honest from myself as it is there to help others decide. To start with the amount of ecchi that is present in this anime is on the higher end of the scale compared to others but that doesn't have any effect on the actually great story that is being played out through the series as it is more to build the main characters into what they become towards the end. However I can see why people would think it is unnecessary but in my opinion it does not matter as each episode has a lot of story and dialog that is enough to keep someone watching even without the *plot* being thrown in your face. In short: The amount of boobs in your face doesn't take away the fact it has a great story.

hear me out. highshcool dxd holds a special place in my heart, not just cause all the tatas but because the story and the characters. the art style shows that rias is a strong independent woman but has a side of her no one can see because of her status. koneko's cute but rough exterior shows how much she has come forward from her past. asias innocent and pure look. xenovias harsh and beautiful character design shows that issei is a positive force that people want to be around. and all the other characters. the way they interact with issei and each other. the way they look, the way the animation flows. all of it in season 1-3 are perfect! but then F* season 4.... what happened? people are saying its more like the novel.... but if you wanted to change the story why also change the art style that worked so well for this anime. it made higschool dxd what it was.... if all they did was re-do the story id be fine. but this art style and character change honestly pisses me off. why is rias this weird cutesy girl instead of her strong powerful self? I love highschool dxd but i just cant make myself watch season 4..... getting through the first episode was hard enough.... and i wont really comment on the censorship because we all know that that damaged the anime too. idk why they did it. but it seems the creators or animators or whatever just wanted to see what a bullet felt like in their foot :/

We all like when our Ecchi has plot, but this story MAGNANIMOUSLY outclasses the rest. This is grade A Fantasy along with great plot devices, astonishingly dynamic characters, and Uncensored Oppai!! It has all of the elements that make everything Ecchi grand and the entrancing progression any great Fantasy possesses. There is no mistake that this anime has received it's medal as one of the best to ever grace the ether. And then the unsuspected romance beneath the surface really gets you til the very end. Don't underestimate this anime. This is coming from someone who hadn't seen a single episode of DxD before Crunchyroll: I couldn't quit watching. I'm almost ashamed to admit, I finished all 3 seasons almost inside of 2 days. This will sweep you up and defy all expectations. You will not be disappointed.
