Visited here while staying with family who live in Muswell Hill. Lovely wood among the hustle and bustle of London. Didn’t realise that there is a memorial bench for Sean Hughes here. Very poignant.

Great place for a walk, picnic or anything else you can think of. Quiet and peaceful, with plenty of paths. Literally a forest in the middle of the city - great for all nature-lovers!

Oli erittäin epäselkeää. Metsästä kuului epäilyttäviä ääniä ja ne pelottivat pientä lastani. Näimme 5 karhua ja yksi niistä yritti syödä aviomieheni. Välttelisin paikkaa viimeisimpään. En oliisi mennyt todellakaan jos nyt olisi mahdollista vielä perua. Lontoo reissun lisäksi jouduimme maksamaan lapsemme terapiaan. Hän on käynyt joka toinen päivä terapiassa reissusta lähtien. Herään joka yö lapsena karjuntaan, sillä traumat jäi.

This is our local park to visit and perfect way to burn off calories all year long. In summer its fantastic to find a quiet shaded area to read or relax totally immersed in the forest and little city noises. Very close to Highgate Tube so easy access and there are many buses that pass close by for visitors.

Highgate Wood has 70 acres area of ancient woodland in North London, it borders East Finchley, Highgate Village, and Muswell Hill.
& was originally part of the ancient Forest of Middlesex which covered most of London,
This park looks like a huge forest as its outer wing is surrounded by huge & tall trees .
Has big children play area & beautiful green covers for cricket playing children.

Uno dei più grandi parchi di Londra;fuori dai classici tour turistici e forse per questo si respira una Londra un pò più "vera". Percorsi in mezzo a laghetti e colline ,tra queste il wiew point con vista sui grattacieli londinesi. da qui si arriva poi a Hempstead.
Un bel giro da fare per uscire dalla confusione del centro.

Ci sono stata oggi, che e' Bank Holiday. Poca gente in un posto a dire poco stupendo. Tanti piccoli percorsi da fare, per rilassarsi e riconnettersi con la natura, alberi altissimi che quasi chiudono il cielo. Ben collegata con il centro, ci sono vari bus che partono e rientrano verso King's Cross. Una piccola gemma poco conosciuta ad Highgate che gia' di per se' vanta lo splendido cimitero vittoriano - anche quello assolutamente da vedere.

This is among the best parks .Its in between Archway station and Muswell Hill.
It’s 70 acres greenery area .
The trees are ancient and hence can be called a Forest Park.
All walking tracks are mud paths , nowhere Concrete or granite is used .
The greenery is wonderful and healthy.
Towards church road is a children’s play area which is protected.
Wash rooms are provided.

A pleasant surpise : a true forest in London. Not far from Bus and Metro Lines you can find a magic atmosphere, walking along the well set paths under the shadow of high trees and far from the noise of traffic

I have visited many Woods throughout the world, and in the UK which is famous for it's parks and which are well kept and organised, especially the Royal Parks. These woods, Highgate Woods, is a rough looking badly maintained (despite the numerous people in green uniforms walking & riding around on their little tractors.
As mentioned previously there are dangerous looking large dogs that I saw running loose without being kept on a lead, Rottweilers, Pit Bull Terriers, and Saint Bernards. Runners are running amok and you really do have to watch behind you to avoid being suddenly hit by the various runners, cyclists and dogs.
The playing feels is the main area where they play cricket and sit around on the grass and seems fairly well maintained, but it is really not a quiet woods , for a nice stroll. More for local neighbours to catch up on their local gossip and kind of cliquey if you know what I mean. The toilets as mentioned including the disabled are well kept, The Restaurant is well laid out but no table service like in Germany, and really the prices listed in their menu should include table service. I did not eat there.
