On Friday 3rd May, the Salesian schools from across the UK came together in Trafford for the annual Inter-Salesian athletics competition.

Each school brought a selection of students of boys and girls from Years 7, 8, 9, and 10 to compete in various events throughout the day.
The events consisted of the 100m, 200m, 300m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 100m hurdles, 4 x 100m relay, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Discus, Javelin, Shot put, and High Jump. Each group got to take part in each activity with the top 3 getting medals in each event. Despite a few bumps and falls in some of the running, the day was enjoyed by all, and during the final event of the relay race, everyone was still in high spirits and cheering their support for their schools.

Just as the final runners came across the finish line, the heavens opened for the prize-giving ceremony.
The prizes were given to the best group of each year, and the overall best in both the boys and the girls competitions.

• Year 7 girls: Thornleigh Salesian College
• Year 7 boys: Salesian College, Farnborough
• Year 8 girls: Thornleigh Salesian College
• Year 8 boys: Salesian College, Farnborough
• Year 9 girls: Thornleigh Salesian College
• Year 9 boys: Salesian College, Farnborough
• Year 10 girls: Salesian School, Chertsey
• Year 10 boys: Thornleigh Salesian College

• Overall girls: Thornleigh Salesian College
• Overall boys: Salesian College, Farnborough

With the overall win in the boys for Farnborough, they continue their 11-year streak of overall wins for the boys.

The day was a complete success with great sportsmanship and camaraderie from everyone in every event.
The Salesian spirit was with everyone and shared eagerly amongst all students throughout the day.
