I like how this school gives you a family feel. It is very easy to meet new people within your building or anywhere else on campus. The campus is a very nice size, especially for the amount of the people there. I will say it is hard to communicate with financial aid about problems. The kids themselves are sort or childish, some call this school a on campus high school.
I am a senior and I am taking all online courses. They have so many resources and offer tutoring. We are able to contact our professors and our peers any time we need to, and the classes are nice as well, I have learned alot of material that I will take with me forever.
Some things I would change about central is the rez life. I want more Greek life and campus events. I would also like you see the cafe have a little more options. Now, some things I like about csu is that it’s small. Meaning I’m about to get around pretty quickly and I also like the fact that everyone to an extent minds their business.
I was a union benefit student and I can say I got a great education under the circumstances. I had to develop an attitude that I had to figure things out for myself for the most part in terms of when I had tough math lessons because I didn't have help in-person. The administration provided me with help or whatever I needed. All of my instructors were fine. They always communicated in a timely manner and provided all requirements and expectations. At the end of the day I received my degree and I'm grateful for the opportunity because I know I did the work. My advisor was also great. He kept track of all of my classes that were needed and I stayed on top of my part in the process. I suppose you get out of this experience what you contribute to it. I also received a lot of emails about internship, scholarship, or job opportunities that I wish I could have taken advantage of, but I already have a great career position.
A broad and welcoming community of academics that honors the diversity of the American experience is something that only Central can offer their students. The visceral promise of support1 to all students has propelled Central success for in excess of years. For everyone2—Black, White, Asian, Latinx, the affluent, the underprivileged, and everyone in between Central provide a secure and supportive environment.
Central state university had some great professors. The books were included in my tuition which was also a great money saver
Online workload was flexible & manageable. Most of the professors were very engaging. Career services available to link you up with internship opportunities.
The impression I'm getting is that the situation at hand resembles that of being in high school, and it seems like the money being spent is not providing any significant value or benefit.
Overall, my experience has been great. There has been some miscommunication with my advisors. They assume you know all the details and like to answer questions very vaguely. Other than that, most of my professors have been very good to work with.
Overall Central State is a HBCU for students who are driven to take more onto life within the academic environment. Central offers good courses along with additional classes that could push you towards your major.
Taking online classes as an adult has been very challenging. Central State has been very supportive and has a lot of resources available to help us succeed.
Central State has provided me the opportunity to pursue my degree from the comfort of my own home. As a full-time working mother, I appreciate the flexibility that Central State has to offer. A prestigious University with supportive faculty that challenges me to reach my full potential. I love the fast paced 8-week courses that allow me to complete my degree in a timely manner. The only complaint I have is the outsourced financial aid department. Overall great college experience.
I like that they try to have many student led activities. They try to message all dorms when activities happen so students can participate if they want to. I would like the communication to be better. Communication can get lost when there so many students but it should be better regardless.
CSU is not the best college. Highly unorganized. Things do not make sense, and the advisers do not seem to be helping. As a new college student, there were so many things that I did not understand and that were not explained to me at the start. You would think that they'd have a opening orientation that informs you of your degree plan, requirements, courses, etc. They did not. How was I supposed to know all this? They got rid of my degree program this year, and they are making me change my degree, take extra classes, and stay longer. The fact that I was done with my degree requirements for the first degree I was in did not matter. The school is hard to work with, and they administration is not on your side. I had some incredible professors that I loved, but the administration was difficult and did not seem to look into the best interests of its students. My advice: go to a different college! Don't give CSU your time or money.
The professors are knowledgeable. The curriculum is straightforward and easy to follow. Time management was implemented with ease. There was a sense of community, even with it being online. There was peer interaction which was important to learning.
I like that there are many organizations that are inclusive. They have many business events and career events that are centered on preparing students for work life and the career you will do when you finish and graduate college. There are so many prep events and sessions about business, finance, studying abroad, Business attire, Resume. They have many events that revolve arararound your resume and making sure It has the best qualities of your life and character and your experience with activities you have done and so forth. They provide professional headshots, and have career Wednesdays where people from different places and careers come and students can get information from them they have a table set up and information about their college their representing or Job on the table. The departments have people for every issue that students could have really and a great health center and each department really is set on helping every student. The communication should improve.
Not really helpful financially, rather another college. Not as Monday opportunities for Computer Science majors. When it comes to events. Just mainly parties and nothing creative. Even if so, not many wants to participate in them
