The best part of my school is the diversity and not just the diversity in school but in clubs and sports. No matter where you go, no matter the sport there’s a variety of people and different personalities, religion and also experience That just allows do you to learn so much through just activities you involve yourself in.
ERHS has no windows. Everyday I walk through the metal detectors into the soulless building wearing my mandatory clear backpack. Going into this building makes me want to cry sometimes. The people are nice. I love my teachers, I truly think they care when they ask how I'm doing. I always come home and teach my family about what I learned in class, I just wish the physical facilities were more conducive to learning.
Eleanor Roosevelt is one of the most known schools in PG County. It’s known for its Science and Technology students which makes up a lot of Roosevelts population and even between both general education and science and tech students everybody has their own little community which is very cool. The staff are very warm and welcoming and connect with everyone even the kids that are harder to work with. Guidance and admin give students many resources to help with college readiness as well as alternatives to college as well. Overall one of the best schools in the country and still upholding the title of a 5 start school.
Overall, the school is very good for its area and is one of the best high school in its county. There are many different areas for students to take in classes. I would like to see a change in amount of requirements for students in the science and tech program. Most sci & tech students rarely have space in their schedule to take the classes/electives they want to take.
Eleanor Roosevelt High School is more than just a place of learning; it is a community that fosters growth, discovery, and empowerment. From its dedicated faculty to its diverse student body, Eleanor Roosevelt High School offers a supportive environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and personally.
Roosevelt offers a wide range of academic and extracurricular opportunities for its students. From advanced placement courses to career and technical education programs, students have the chance to challenge themselves academically and prepare for their future careers. The school also boasts a variety of clubs, sports teams, and performing arts groups for students to get involved in outside of the classroom. I am grateful for the friendships formed and memories made within this nurturing environment.

My experience at Eleanor Roosevelt High School has been nothing else but exciting. I remember taking my freshman classes online and realizing how accepting and nice the teachers were. I remember my first steps into the school building and feeling a sense of belonging from the faculty and staff. The diversity made me feel welcomed as there were people who were from where I was from and had the same interests as me. I enjoyed my time at Eleanor Roosevelt and I am grateful the school has prepared me for the next stage of my life.
There are a lot of courses you can choose from, with many AP courses and dual enrollment etc. Teachers in advanced classes teach pretty well. Considerably one of the best high school in PG county. Many sports team, arts and music involvement. Bathrooms can be dirty, with broken locks on the stalls. Cafeteria food is not the best.
Eleanor Roosevelt High School is one of the best high schools in PG County (if not the best.) The academics and teachers here are top notch and the students have an amazing sense of community. I'd consider it super safe compared to other high schools in the area, and I'd definitely recommend the Science & Technology Program!
Being a student here had been an okay experience for me. Since I am on their S/T Program, I couldn't take the classes I really like to make up for my S/T graduation credits (but their Option 4 dual enrollment helped me understand what college classes are like).
My experience in my high school lasted for two years. It was mostly better at my senior year.
My experience at Eleanor Roosevelt high school it’s all like a high school movie that’s how I would put it because I was able to experience freshman year sophomore year and junior year having fun while still doing good in school. Junior was my mvp year I good all quarter
Overall, I have had a great experience at my high school. I would say the best part is the academic opportunities I have as a participant in the Science and Technology Program. I would say the worst part of my experience would be the stress from the extensive coursework. Overall, I would like to see less of a divide between students.
My experience at Eleanor Roosevelt was good, they were very considerate of me transferring over to a new high school. The teachers showed great care and my counselors made sure that I had everything I needed to succeed. The students and classmates have always been kind and respectful, they have made me feel like I belong here. The school made sure that there were plenty of opportunities and chances to be creative and expressive. They provide me with all the necessary resources and tools that I may need to make sure I success. Overall, my time at Eleanor Roosevelt has been a great experience.
I'm in the Science and Tech program, and it's actually a really good program that prepares you for college and STEM careers. The school offers many different electives and even science classes that you can take (at least 10 different sciences and 3 different engineering courses that I can remember from the top of my head). Even if you're not in the S/T program, you're still offered many different fun electives. There are like 10 music and arts courses that you can take, and all of the teachers are very nice and willing to help you with your work. Everyone in the school is able to take AP courses, and there are many AP courses offered at ERHS. Based on my own experiences during my 4 years at the school, all of the teachers try their best to make sure you pass their class, so just try your best. Counselors also try very hard to get you to graduate, and they do try their best to give you the schedule you want. Lastly, there are MANY clubs and sports and events/activities at ERHS!!
I miss eating outside during lunch and also am upset we did not have a spring fling. I also am upset that I don't have lunch with my friend due to the dissolving of my AP Literature period. It is severely depressing to have to sit alone at lunch everyday, when I COULD be in 5th period lunch with my friend and have AP Literature 4th period like I used to have.
Amazing School with great teachers and great diversity! Also, they have an amazing science and technology program that I am a part of.
I would say I love the diversity and teacher at Roosevelt but I didn’t appreciate much the segregation of class levels.
