Wrong sub to ask. The average German knows diddly squat about the current German Navy, even less about the navies of older German states. You‘re better to ask in other subs.

Better to ask in one of the military or one of the warship subreddits.

...

Thought we might have another Wehraboo here, but OP's posting history hints more towards a very, very curious, possibly kharma-hungry person.

I hope this is a joke!

I have not seen it,but i am sure that it would look better with a new coat of paint. Pink, maybe?

And rename it the "Ross Antony"

Strange sentence

Never heard of it.
To be honest I don't know any battleship names besides. Gorch Fock and Hessen. And Hessen only because it was in the news lately.

u/guerrero2 avatar

Not even the Bismarck?

I wasn't sure. But yeah I now that then but just by name.
The only battleship I have a picture in mind is the Gorch Fock. But I think its not even used in battle

These are both not battleships.

What do you mean? The Gorch Fock is a ship to learn stuff on and the Hessen definetly is a battleship.

A battleship is a large, heavily armored warship with a main battery consisting of large-caliber guns, designed to serve as capital ships with the most intense firepower. Before the rise of supercarriers, battleships were among the largest and most formidable weapon systems ever built.

Gorch Fock is a sail training ship and Hessen is a frigate (or a destroyer in international comparison). This is also very clearly stated in the article you posted. These are both very different from battleships. You seem to mix up the term battleship (Schlachtschiff) with the term warship (Kriegsschiff). A battleship has very distinct definition and no battleship is currently in service. You may start to read here: https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schlachtschiff

Yeah I think I don't care enough to make a distinction between ships with guns

those are not battle ships

Yeah I know by now 😂 But to be honest I don't care enough to distinguish ships with guns

Thus shitting on OP, who does care. Great job, "funny guy":

I didn't shit on OP. If at all I shat on myself by telling everyone I don't know any battleships at all
