    Hi there,

i accidently cut through the connector for the Power/Volume keys while opening the key2.

do you see a way to turn on the device without the power key? anyone got a pinout for that connector? Is it spi/i2c or just simple keys?

(yes i ordered a new cable but it will take a while to arrive)

Hi, the device is not just locked but shut down completely.
    Tapping won't start it.

I can't think of any other besides plugging it into the wall or a computer

I have no idea, maybe you should go to the support place

Quick Update: i ordered the WRONG SPARE PART. i did not know there is a "key2 LE"....
not only that this one does obviously NOT fit, it ALSO uses a DIFFERENT PINOUT :-(
So, when connecting the Key2LE PowerBTN to the Mainboard, it will constantly press POWER+VOLUME wich makes a boot menu appear...

Well, if you connect the plug for only 1/2 second, you can turn on the Key2.

Using Button Mapper, you can tell other buttons to be the Power key, wich lets you Reboot/Shutdown/Lock the phone. i wrote about that here: https://forums.crackberry.com/blackb.../#post13540245

    • Sadly, there seems no way to TURN ON the Smartphone without the original Power button?

Since the Display seems to slowly disassembly i do not want to order more parts.

PLUS, i'm afraid is is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to replace the PowerbuttonCable, since it lies between Display and Case. I am very afraid to disassemble the phone any further.
    • Any1 ever replaced the PowerButton?

Just return that LE part and order the one specifically made for the KEY2

After my Key2 got wet it had an issue where it would reset over and over. I took the back off and tried to fix it, but I ended up just disabling my power button. I was able to turn it on by plugging in the key2 pulling the charger up and pulling it out real quick. One of the short cut options for the keys is to lock the screen which turns the screen off, and the fingerprint sensor wakes it up. But if it were to turn off the only recourse would be to plug it in and unplug it quickly.

The advice to plug in the cable for 1/2 a second is bang on - when you plug it in, after a short time the Blackberry icon appears on the screen - immediately pull the plug out and the phone will power up. My power button has been on the blink for weeks and finally I allowed the battery to run out by mistake and thought I was in big trouble - but the advice from WiredMatt is spot on - thank you!
