PAGASA Says Amihan and LPA to Bring Rains Over Parts of the Philippines

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the northeast monsoon and a low-pressure area will bring rains in the country.

On Monday (January 29, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. A low-pressure area and the northeast monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA specialist Obet Badrina reported that a Northeast Monsoon and trough or extension of a low-pressure area will bring rains over some areas. The trough of a low-pressure area will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Caraga and Davao Region.

The monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region, and Eastern Visayas,

“That’s the area of Samar provinces including Biliran and Leyte provinces,” Badrina explained.

Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Visayas.

The trough of the LPA or localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over the rest of Mindanao.

For the rest of Mindanao, there are chances of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms,” he added.

However, the northeast monsoon may still bring fair weather to some parts of the country.

No LPA forming within the Philippine area of responsibility is being monitored on Monday.
