Ry Cooder – Paradise And Lunch

I thoroughly enjoyed Ry Cooder’s, Crossroads, movie soundtrack and his productions of Buena Vista Social Club albums but I bypassed many of his other albums until now. I just purchased 3 of his albums, Bop Till You Drop, Chicken Skin Music and this one. I’ve enjoyed side of this album and look forward to listening to the other albums.

Great pressing. Clean sound. Nice soundstage, separation & imaging.
Great album

It's funny. Most of the albums I have of Ry Cooder are the work he did on Hawaiian music albums. It seems to be that every one of his albums is an exploration of a different music style. This is a good album. Basically - country blues. Loving the slide guitar on it.

There is also some lovely slack key on Mexican Divorce.

Couldn't agree more with the last review—this pressing is outstanding in every way! Simply the best I've ever heard this album sound (though I haven't heard the MoFi, I can't imagine it beats a Kevin Gray cutting with an Optimal pressing). The vinyl is dead silent, flat, and incredibly dynamic. You can hear each instrument perfectly separated and the sound packs a huge punch. If you're a Ry Cooder fan, this album is a must. Highly recommended!

One of the better sounding pressings I own. An enjoyable album that you can pick up very reasonably.

Ok, granted, I don't have any other versions of this on vinyl to compare it to, plus I got it as a gift (I know, I'm so lucky), but Cohearent Audio aka KPG aka Kevin Gray + Pallas pressing always = pure bliss, and this one is no different. Heavy vinyl, dead silent noise floor, perfect recording levels, tremendous separation on instruments, vocals where they're supposed to be, just impeccable details. You can still get this at relatively normal prices, and I assure you, Ry Cooder never sounded so good.

This version also exists in a 'Extra Price' version (with a yellow sticker on the front). The only difference is that the K 44 260 on the centre of the disc is now 'REP 44 260'.
