Food is generally good although they don't often replace food bins quickly. I wish they had the soups they used to have. Condiment containers on tables need to be thoroughly cleaned. Rack that holds the condiment containers need to also be washed frequently. Furniture needs...updating.More
My visit for lunch a disappointment. The selection of dishes has lessened since My last lunch. The beef was limited to possible one. One or two with pork. Possibly the economy has effected the buffet selection. I will not be visiting for sometime.
My husband and I along with my son and his girlfriend recently dined at BC Osaka in Merrillville, IN. We have been there before and really do enjoy the sushi and fresh stir fry on the buffett. My problem with this visit is that my...Mother had given me a group of coupons for BC she got in a paper from Shorewood Il which had no restriction as to location. When I paid for four adults, over $60 and tried to use a 10% off coupon I was told it was not from their restaurant. Ok, so off we went and had our dinner. When I went to the restroom I noticed a couple paying for their bill using a coupon, for 10% off. I approached them and asked them where they got it and they said a local paper. I examined said coupon and saw no location listed on it. When we left I approached the manager very nicely and asked him why he would not accept my coupon when it was basically the same. HE ROLLED HIS EYES AT ME. I further explained that I owned a business and did what it took to keep my customers satisfied and found it amazing that he would risk alienating someone for $6 who was willing to spend $60 when there are numerous other restaurants in this mall area. Still like the food but I will think twice about revisiting.More
Stopped here while traveling north to Chicago. We are so glad we found this gem! Everything we ate off the buffet was delicious! I wish my tummy could have held more but I was full after two small platefuls! Normally sushi at buffets isn't very...good but the quality of BC's sushi was excellent! I was so impressed with everything. The service was good too with a lady coming by often to fill our drinks and clear our dirty dishes often. Wish we lived closer because we'd be coming here often!More
Came here for the first time yesterday. I was afraid there was going to be more sushi Than other buffet items, but gladly I was wrong. This has to be the largest Asian buffet in the region, it's huge. They also have a grill chef...who will cook anything you give him from the raw food bar. And at $18.71, including soft drink for a senior, A very good value.More
Sat down and it looked like they haven't washed the beautiful glass booth dividers in years. Food was bad, people were not wearing masks. Keep your $18 per person and RUN to another restaurant!!!!!!
As an oriental buffet my expectations were pretty low. I was totally blown away! It's about $13 a person and that includes your drink. The food was surprisingly good....not your normal buffet where everything tastes the same, but really good diverse flavors...even the sushi was...worth eating! It was clean and our plates were cleared quickly and our drinks were never empty. Definitely five this place a try.More
The host stole our credit card info and tried to run a transaction while we were still eating. Poor quality food and bad service as well.
After waiting for over 15 minutes I finally got up and went searching for some silverware and a drink. I was rudely told to “sit down server will come in 1 second” another 10 minutes still no drink or silverware went in search of the...manager and her response was “oh sorry I will find someone to help you”. Then she went back to eating her dinner. I ended up finding some chopsticks and went and got my own water. It was 730 and the place was not busy at all. Many empty dishes on buffet and no shrimp on hibachi the entire time we were here even asking if food could be replenished. Witnessed an employee wipe the floor with a rag then wipe the soup pots and counters with the same rag. The counters, floors and booths were nasty!!! Couldn’t eat here after witnessing all of this. No wonder they were not busy on a Saturday night. Wasted $31.65 Never again!!!More
The flat top is great .the seaweed salad and sushi is good. Overall is good.wish they had better soups. I would go back..but only with their coupons...fruit was terrible
Why oh why did I not use trip advisor to check the reviews before stopping here?!?! The online menu boasted high end cuts of a-la-carte sushi and a nice menu and bar / wine list. When I got there it turned out to be buffet...only, and they wouldn't serve me off the A-La-Carte Menu. The quality of food was horrendous. I actually watched a gentleman water down the salmon... The oysters looked as if they were a week old and I was too scared to go near the sea food. I think every dish was either fried in fat, covered in sauce or drenched in some sort of low quality coagulating butter or oil.... Diner's Beware..More
One of the dirtiest restaurants I've ever visited! Not only did it take several tries for us each to select a plate that was clean, there was trash & food all over the floor in the dining room, the buffet lines, the waiter service areas-...while they stood around arguing loudly with each other about a work issue instead of cleaning up the obvious garbage at their feet! We arrived well over an hour before closing, but that didn't stop the guys from slamming chairs up on top of tables all around the table they'd seated our party at- commenting how they were hoping to get out of there early. The so-called 'sushi' was a joke- the 'seafood' used was obviously imitation and tasteless, and the other buffet selections all tasted the same- artificial and bland.More
First time here! Great value and great food. We loved the selection. There was something for everybody and it was very good value. We live in Scotland and we so wish we had a similar great restaurant over here!!
PROSPECTIVE EATER PLEASE BEAWARE. BC Osaka was the completely worst eating experience I have ever had in my life 30 years of living. My family and I were so frustrated by the quality of food (food was disgusting, cold, cross-contaminated, and at one point, some...parts were found uncooked), lack of etiquette (our waitress scoffed at us when we asked for both water and soda; we are constantly sat in the corner of the restaurant next to the employee preparation area when we come with your kids; and furthermore, they lied about what time they close, IT’S NOT 10pm LIKE THEY ADVERTISE, IT’S ACTUALLY 9:15pm!!), and complete disregard the employees show for their customers (I waited 45 minutes for a waiter to come ask for what drink I wanted). Please, please, please! If you are a person who enjoys a nice atmosphere, friendly staff, appreciates good food, and want a family friendly place, DON’T GO HERE!More
One person told me that this place was really good so my wife and I decided to try it for lunch on a Friday afternoon. The young woman at the pay station asked us if we are seniors. We clearly don't look like we're 60...years old so it was a bit insulting and besides seniors will speak up for that miniscule discount...no need to ask! The place is massive and decorated pretty nicely. It reminded me of several Las Vegas buffet's we've been in. We did not utilize the hibachi feature because there were just too many people in line. As I walked past the sushi bar there was a pretty strong fishy smell. I'd always heard that if you can smell the fish at a fish counter it's probably not a good idea to eat it. There's the usual hodge-podge of buffet standbys. Chicken dishes, egg rolls, pizza and a really tough beef roast that you have to carve yourself! I made the mistake of whacking off a big piece but couldn't even eat it. I actually had to eject the first mouthful into a napkin it was so tough! I wish I could say something was good but aside from the eggdrop soup neither of us enjoyed anything we ate. BTW..my wife said they have the worst crab rangoon's she's ever tasted. One other interesting point I should mention are the dining booths. The table is really far from the seats. I guess being a buffet they expect a lot of rotund customers. They are built back-to-back so every time your dining neighbor moves in the slightest you get jostled around. If you've ever had the misfortune to eat at the Circus Circus buffet you actually had a better meal than what they serve up at B C's.More
