- ChrisHo Chi Minh City, Vietnam287 contributionsGrrat Beach, good bars and restaurants close by. The beach is sheltered and is shallow making it perfect for those less confident in the water and families. The water is warm and sparkling clean.Written May 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Russell3939Castle Rock, CO977 contributionsWe had been looking at this beach from a far all day from different high viewpoints in Phuket. With how green the water looked from a far I thought that it would be turquoise water when we got there. It wasnt. There are no facilities(showers or bathrooms) that we could see. We set up at the far left if looking at the water where the sun chairs are at to rent. 4 chairs and 2 umbrellas was 400 baht. The sand was extremely hot, so bring some water shoes. The water was like bathtub temps. I could see where that would seem nice, but we were hoping for a cooler dip based off the heat outside. The water color up close was nothing to write home about.Written March 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jérôme LBangkok, Thailand5 contributionsI recently visited Patong Beach during my trip to Thailand, and it exceeded all my expectations! The beach itself is beautiful, with soft white sand and clear turquoise waters perfect for swimming and sunbathing. Whether you’re looking to relax or indulge in some water sports, Patong Beach has it all.
One of the highlights of Patong is the vibrant nightlife. Bangla Road comes alive after dark with a myriad of bars, clubs, and restaurants. It’s the perfect place for those who love to party and enjoy live music. The street food vendors offer a wide variety of delicious Thai delicacies, which are a must-try.
During the day, there are plenty of activities to keep you entertained. From parasailing and jet skiing to beach volleyball and massages on the beach, you’ll never be bored. There are also numerous shops and markets where you can find great deals on souvenirs and clothing.
The local people are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. While it can get quite crowded, especially in peak season, the energy and atmosphere of Patong Beach are infectious.Written May 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is the most important temple in Phuket and is dedicated to two monks who assisted the people during a Chinese rebellion in 1876.
There are several structures and temples on site - the one that stands out is Phra Mahathat Chedi which has 3 levels - the first two have a number of Buddhas in various poses to reflect the different stages of life.
Must see is the structure that houses statues of the monks - you see people placing gold leaf as a sign of respect.

- je annieLondon, UK55 contributionspatong beach Even though it was cloudy and the sun wasn't very bright, there were still many foreigners sunbathing and taking photos with concave shapes. The characteristic of the beach is that the sand is very fine, like ground pepper, and does not hurt your feet when you walk on it. There are generally fewer tourists and it is quiet; the sea is not as beautiful as Phi Phi Island in Thailand and Sabah in Malaysia, but the beach is good and the long beaches are connected together.Written April 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - adelitay78Singapore, Singapore259 contributionsAmazing and memorable experience with our 5 year old. She got to experience feeding the elephants by hand and the staff took care of her too. They looked out for her, and interacted with her energetically. It rained heavily when we arrived, so it was pretty cold. But it was actually warmer when we got into the water to scrub the elephants. It was magical being in the same space as these gentle giants, and it was good to know that they are in a good place after being rescued. The elephants are allowed to roam free after 430pm, and checked daily to see if they required medical care.
The staff here all seem to really enjoy what they do, and to do what they do for the elephants.
It was fun preparing the pad Thai and som tum after. The simple buffet spread was also delicious, with rice, fried chicken wings and chips for the young ones. The tom yum was not spicy, but retained the flavours.
Good quality towels were provided, and basic showers.
Bring a change of clothes.Written May 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
