Dorothy Jean Arakelian
July 10, 1929 - February 13, 2024
Fresno, California - Age 94, passed away on February 13, 2024.
She is survived by her daughter, Joy Arakelian; son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Lynn Arakelian; and grandchildren, Taylor and Austin Arakelian. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Arakelian; mother, Rose Koharian; and siblings, Ernest Kavoian and Margaret Josephine.
She was born on July 10, 1929, in Fresno to Henry and Rose Kavoian. She graduated from Roosevelt High School. In 1950, she married Eddie Arakelian. Together, they made a home filled with love and generosity. Everything Dorothy did was for her family and friends. The dinner table was a gathering place for all. She was a beautiful woman, full of style and personality. Even through Alzheimer's she remained the sweet and spirited Dorothy everyone loved. Mom will be dearly missed. Her soul is resting with the Lord.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all her caregivers over the last several years. Your care and attention to our mom made a difficult time easier.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 29, 2024, at the Holy Trinity Church, 2226 Ventura at 11:00 AM.
The family requests that any donations be made to the Holy Trinity Church or the California Armenian Home.

Dorothy was a lovely woman, full of grace and kindness. I have very fond memories of visiting with her at my parents' home in Aptos. She and Eddie were a perfect couple. She is now at home, back with her beloved Eddie. Condolences to the family on the loss of your loving mother.
