My experience at Gadsden City High School was one I will never forget. I transferred to Gadsden City from a small county school after COVID-19, and I believe it was the best decision I have made for myself. I learned so much not only about academics, but also about different cultures, myself, and about life in general. I was prepared for college classes and the lifestyle of living on my own. I am proud to say I attended Gadsden City High School.
I would like to see more preparation for college. The current senior counselor does not do much to help seniors find good matches for colleges or scholarships, and doesn't provide any no-essay scholarships.
I graduated from Gadsden City High School in 2021, and before I left I remember discussing with some classmates the best and worst things about the school. For me personally the teachers, especially math teachers, are wonderful they actually made me enjoy math and the whole problem solving process that goes into it. All of the teachers are pretty nice people except for the ones who show favoritism to a particular group of kids while making other feel excluded and shunned. Usually it's only the honors teachers who do this though, Basic to Advanced are fine. However, that brings me to another point about how the student life there is very dramatic, I suppose it's expected from a bunch of teenagers but, from what I can remember is that there was always some sort of fight going on. We used to have fights at least once a month, and usually it was over stuff done or said on social media. Which is why they banned phones at school.
