Hello. Wanting to know if anyone can assist with issue with using Google maps via car play. This is for a 2021 X3 with newest iPhone. For some reason, I connect to CarPlay and see Google maps on screen but when I drive it doesn�t move. No triangle movement.

Is there a setting in the car or on phone I need to check? If anyone has patience providing everything that I should check (car settings or iPhone settings somewhere) please let me know. Thank you.

did you check in settings-privacy and security- location services Set to on
then look down the list for google is it set to while using?

Where are you placing your phone?

In the wireless charging tray. Would it make a difference where I put it in car?

... clear gg maps cache?... unistall/reinstall?... or try restart hp, at times worked out well for me on either or all that

... once even found that gg maps was thrown to deep sleep, than i just enable it again

Can you clarify how to do this on a phone? Hp?

The first time I use a phone after connecting it to Carplay, Waze doesn�t work properly until I launch the app from the phone. It will either give me a blank map or it won�t track my motion. After launching it that first time it seems to launch itself and behave on subsequent connections. Might try that if you haven�t already.

... this wat i had once also... than found out, it acted that way due to the fella was in deep sleep mode... aka unused app for certain length of time

Did you try rebooting the phone? Or uninstalling Google Maps and reinstalling.

i've been noticing this recently too, but if i open google maps app on the phone then it catches up on the idrive.

background app refresh on in settings?
