El Centro, Welcome to the Hood!!
I attended el centro after graduating high school and I thought it was beyond scared straight!!! This place has no campus life and the athletics are a complete joke.
I emailed the basketball coach and he never replied, even though their stands are completely empty.
On my 3rd day of school I was walking to my car and I heard somebody yell "get em jason"
I was immediately confronted by a man who demanded that I give him money.
Yes I got robbed.
This school has no security on duty nor working security cameras. If you value your life dont go here. They need to build wall right around el centro instead of mexico because this place is an utter disaster.
If you are a 5"10 white kid who is right out of high school and you live in the area and your looking to save a few bucks, DO NOT come here!!
This is not the place for You.
The professors, more specifically the ENC professor constantly makes jokes about wall jumping and Joe Biden.

Overall it’s a great experience! I did have 2 complaints. I took night classes and at times they would lock the handicap doors. I was on crutches for half the semester so trying to get in and out of the building was rough. My second issue is that parking is not the best. You’d have to pay $5/night for a 2hr class. Parking was also across the street which was not crutch friendly.
Everyone is friendly, the security guards are very nice and helpful! The events are super fun, my favorite is the field day every year. Theres free shirts, snacks, music and a bounce house. I also love going to the library. There is a pretty view over downtown Dallas in the corner and plenty of workstations and charging ports, they even have a puzzle table in the middle of the room and i enjoy working on it while waiting for my train.
