What we’re about
We are a friendly, upbeat walking group with members typically aged 30s-60s, providing a mixed programme of walks every weekend, as well as social events, weekends away, and other activities.
We are part of the national Ramblers, so for a one off yearly fee of £38.50 you can come along to any of our events. We hope that once you have walked with us a few times you will be tempted to join us as a member of the West Kent Walking Group
For general enquires about the group contact us by email at: enquires_wkwg@outlook.com
You can get full membership of the group by joining the Ramblers' Association at: Join the Ramblers ( when asked to choose group select West Kent Walking Group). By becoming a full member, you'll get to hear first about weekends away, meals out, extra events for Ramblers Members that aren't on the Meetup programme, plus you'll get a 15% discount at Cotswold Outdoor stores, 5% off at Cottages4you, a discount on HF walking holidays, as well as a quarterly Ramblers mag, and full online access to the Ramblers database of walks across the country.

Peter D's Shoreham & Otford Evening walk - Ramblers - Eridge/Bowles Environs, mystery lands between Tunbridge Wells and CrowboroughTN3 9LD, Tunbridge Wells
10.5 miles, circular, moderate
Land time forgot beyond the Eridge Estate between Tunbridge Wells and Crowborough, part following the Old Cuckoo Steam line and the River Grom, skirting rock cliffs and dry ski run at Bowles. The late Queen, Prince Philip and kids often stayed at Eridge Park following the Eridge Hunt around this area in their Land Rover. Lord North set off from here in the C16TH on his horse back to London before falling ill and happening upon the restorative springs at what was to become Tunbridge Wells. Drink at end at the Huntsman Inn with its very attractive beer garden. Bring Picnic lunch. Please note that there is a £2 payment required for non-Ramblers members to help cover our Meetup costs. Please help the walk leader by bringing the exact change.
