Noel Murray AV Club Often highly entertaining - funny at times, creepy at times, and with a liberal dose of what-the-hell? - is more straightforward and plain than Alias or Lost's first episodes were. Rated: B+ May 24, 2018 Full Review Barry Garron Hollywood Reporter What really makes Fringe so promising is that it is potentially reminiscent, in a small way, of the battle-of-the-sexes charm that once made Moonlighting the best hour of TV of its time. May 24, 2018 Full Review Heather Havrilesky Salon.com You get a scribbled treasure map littered with obscure signage that's meant to suggest all kinds of deeper, more complex meanings - none of which you'll ever fully understand, of course. Aug 20, 2013 Full Review Adam Sweeting The Arts Desk Still, the fact that it can remind us that The X-Files is as outmoded as a first generation iPod is proof that Fringe is doing something strange and different. Aug 6, 2020 Full Review Seth Freilich Pajiba The one thing that did stand out to me was the show's style. They seem to be going for a "cool" thing, playing around with some of the way they shoot and frame scenes, and it largely works Jun 14, 2018 Full Review Vic Holtreman Screen Rant Hopefully the quality remains high on Fringe - it's off to a hell of a great start. Test T I watched some of this on DVD recently. It's not really my kind of show, but it seemed like it was a high quality production with a decent budget. On dvd there are no adverts to get in the way, and each long running episode plays almost like a feature film, and is very absorbing. Recommended if you like this kind of sci-fi. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/02/24 Full Review Julia P This tv show made me stare my wall for hours, think about theories and everything! Of course one of the best sci-fi tv shows from world! Everybody, and the X-filles fans, need to watch this show! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/13/24 Full Review Robert L Fringe is an outstanding TV show that manages to punch way above it's weight in terms of idea, story arcs, writing and acting. It's hard to imagine that J.J. Abrams and Alex Kurtzman would then go on to produce considerably worse movies and television, this being their magnus opus. To think it's an 00s copy of the X-Files would be a severe mistake. There is far more going on in the episodes than meets the eye and even a 2nd viewing provides new inside. Just keep an eye out for the men in black in each episode. Fantastic television. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/07/23 Full Review David W Superb. One of my all time favourite sci-fi series makes a fantastic start. Sets up the characters and lore beautifully and has suspense, humour, wit and invention in spades. The acting is superb from the main cast who have wonderful chemistry. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/28/23 Full Review Jared W The beginning of this show was slow to start. But as soon as we got our first hint of a case. My attention did not waiver. I was invested completely. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/27/23 Full Review Toms c Brilliant tip to 70's sci-fi.
