It sits on a hill from which there are spectacular views of the city and the nearby Sierra Morena, its pentagonal wall is exceptionally preserved for all the sieges it has had, it has several towers, the homage tower being the most spectacular.
Today you can still admire four of the six doors that the castle had
If one looks closely, colonies of kestrels can be seen on its walls.
As you walk around the fortress you can try to imagine the way of life of the soldier-monks who lived here and who managed to leave an indelible mark on the population

Stop at the High Altar, covered by a dome, made up of a baroque temple with three faces, of great ornamental wealth. It also has a high choir with a projecting golden tribune. The dome is decorated with 18th century paintings that were made by Italian painters and represent the Holy Trinity.
