Princeton Named Among Top 35 NJ High Schools: U.S. News

PRINCETON, NJ — It will come as no surprise that Princeton High School has once again ranked among the best high schools in the country and New Jersey, according to a new ranking Tuesday from U.S. News & World Report.

The publication ranked the state's top 406 and showed where they landed among more than 20,500 public high schools in the United States.

Princeton High School ranked at 33rd in New Jersey and 617th in the United States.

The school, with an enrollment of 1,532 students in grades 9 to 12, boasts a graduation rate of 96 percent.

The AP participation rate at Princeton High School is 73 percent. The total minority enrollment is 52 percent, and 11 percent of students are economically disadvantaged, according to U.S. News & World Report.

State-by-state performance is based solely on which states have the largest proportion of schools in the top 25 percent. Massachusetts once again leads in the ranking, followed by Connecticut, New Jersey, Maryland and Florida, respectively.

The top high schools have students who score exceptionally high on math, reading and science assessments, as well strong performance among under-served students. High school graduation rates and college readiness among graduates are also measured.
