Childhood In Trevor s Crowd
Slightly before World War II, Adolf Hitler rose to power by promising great things for the German
people. He also had a quite public hatred of Jewish people, which was ignored because of the other
things he promised. This is an example of people blindly following a leader. It is a theme that is
occasionally repeated in books. Greene Graham shows a group of kids following a leader who
demands radical changes and alterations. Graham warns the reader about how a crowd of people will
follow orders from a fierce leader blindly. Trevor is an idealistic, emotionally unstable child. The term
child is used loosely, as Trevor s age is never directly stated. Trevor acts like a teenager would when
he is first introduced, being very grim and dour. Trevor gave Mike a dark gaze (1) when Mike laughed
at Trevor s overly fancy name. Trevor acts tough when he is introduced to build some admiration for
himself by others and for people to be intimidated by him. Trevor immediately assumes that the gang
he got accepted into is for tough , or intimidating people. This is why he first rarely talks and has a
brooding silence that all recognized (1). His brooding silence fits with his tough guy persona. Trevor
is disappointed in how the gang reacts to situations, like when Old Misery handed the gang ... Show

His protest[ing] with the fury of the child he had never been (6) sets the stage for him to be replaced.
Instead of offering solutions, Trevor only insists that there is one. He badgers them with There s got to
be a way, (6), and, We couldn t have gotten this far. (6). His childish nature is exposed again, leading
to him not being a good leader, which lets him be replaced. Blackie seizes the opportunity and begins
to order the kids around. You hear, Mike ...He [Blackie] [is] the leader again. (6). Blackie then leads

The Shirley Cards
The Shirley cards were color reference cards for photography to compare and calibrate skin toned,

Beltane Research Paper
Beltane is the season on the ancient Celtic calendar that marks the beginning of the light half of the
year. The season comes between May 1 and June 21. During this season, there is Gaelic festival,
Samhain that marks the beginning of the winter and the end of the harvest season. Samhain represents
another powerful moment for future divining, as there is a thin barrier between the spirit and reality
worlds. According to the Celtic people, Beltane marks the time of sacred alchemical marriage between
god Bael, their solar father and goddess Danu, their earth mother. Moreover, the marriage and the
intercourse of Bael, the solar father and Danu the earth mother is symbolized by the performance of
the Maypole dance during this season. Therefore, we celebrate our earthly parents and their
intercourse that created us during this time of the year. This is a special moment to celebrate fertility
and mating all over the world. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a season similar to Samhain as the doorways between worlds are wide open. Moreover,
children conceived during orgiastic rituals on Beltane were believed to have the divine energies of the
earthly parents. These children were seen to have magical and special abilities. The archetypes of Bael
and Danu are represented in Beltane rituals by always incorporating the crowning of a May Queen and
May King. Therefore, this season marks the most favorable moment for engagements and marriages.
Symbols and Energies for the Season of Beltane Beltane is a season that is associated with a number
of symbols and energies such as the fire, southeast direction and the summer season. The serpent and a
rabbit, Hawthorne plant, red and white colors and the kingdom of the fire and the salamanders, also
symbolize the season. Besides, the season is associated with the dark or lunar stage, midday or high

Service Dogs Research Paper
A Snapshot of Canines at Work Dogs dramatically impact the lives of people in numerous aspects. Not
only do they work for humans tirelessly, but they do it with a smile on their face and a wag in their
tail, and they are non judgmental towards people with disabilities. People utilized the help and
companionship dogs provided even hundreds of years ago. However, many people see dogs as futile,
considering training, money, time, and work that is put into owning a dog, let alone having it
specifically trained to do a certain job. It is also risky putting so much time and effort into a dog, being
aware that they are very capable of making mistakes just as humans are. Also, many people do not
know the depth of the work that dogs provide, or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some disabled people feel very disconnected from normal people, but a service dog helps them
overcome that, and also become more independent. Service dogs seem to positively influence
socialization and community participation in a variety of environments. Two studies observed
partnerships in natural environments (Eddy et al., 1988; Mader et al., 1989) and reported that
community members smiled and conversed with children and adults with service dogs more than
children and adults without service dogs, and community members did not avoid the person with a
disability as much when a service dog was present (Winkle, Crowe, and Hendrix 57). Service dogs
allow disabled people to do more things on their own, with the help of the dog, and feel like they do
not have to rely on other people to help them as much. In addition, when a disabled person has a
service dog, they have a companion that is by their side throughout the day, boosting their confidence.
Presnall writes: Jennifer had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at the age of sixteen... I felt kind
of repulsive and unlovable in that wheelchair, [Jennifer] says. But I knew a service dog would look at
me and just think I was cool (8). More evidence of this is proven with the bond between David, a man
who had both of his legs amputated above his knees, and his dog Inca. Inca s arrival has made a huge
difference to David s life, both emotionally and physically (Bidder 48). Thus, service dogs impact

The Massacre Of Israeli Delegates At The Summer Munich...
The events of the past have a way of transforming themselves over time. Something that occurred
mere minutes ago can evolve over the next few hours, and an event that seemed so straight forward
many years past finds itself a new meaning within the greater context of the period. The same concept
applies to a specific event a mere 45 years ago, namely the massacre of Israeli delegates at the summer
Munich Olympics of 1972.
This event is now portrayed in standard textbooks as being part of a larger event of the time period,
one of the lingering effects of the Jordanian Civil War of 1971, an event that has been dubbed Black
September in the history books. As a result of the efforts of the Jordanians placed against various
Palestinian groups during the war, the Fatah, a militant Palestinian group and PFLP, another radical
group, jointly created a terror group named after the conflict. The Black September Organization
attempted to force revenge on both the Jordanian authority and the Israelis, who had occupied their
lands in Palestine. The organization became known to assassinate Israelis abroad in an act of revenge
(Smith).
However, at the time of the Olympics, the world s reaction was not as cut and dry as it is today. In
both the political and public worlds, the attitude was one of shock and horror. The Secretary General
of the United Nations said that while the event was, on its own, one that was terrible, it was made
worse by infringing on the idea that the Olympic Games

Analysis Of Fences By August Wilson
All people deal with emotions in everyday life and most will have problems controlling their emotions
at some point in time. However, when emotions get out of hand people can start having problems in
their daily life. In August Wilson s play Fences, he uses his piece to explain that someone unable to
control their actions caused by selfish, hatred, or angry emotions will cause issues in one s personal
life, general decisions, and in family life. Wilson hopes to target people who can t control their
emotions and wishes to prevent the negative effects of uncontrolled actions caused by negative
emotion. The inability to control one s emotions can harm their friends, decision making, and family.
Wilson main reason of writing the play is to show the audience that uncontrolled emotion can be
harmful in one s life. In Wilson s play, he uses the character Troy, a man who is a married man with a
rough history and has anger issues. Troy personal life is heavily influenced by his emotion especially
the anger from his past. Troy spends the majority of the play stating that he was unable to play
baseball due to his race even though he claims to be better than the majority of players playing at the
time. All through the play, Troy told Rose his wife, Cory, and Bano about how if he was white he
would be a professional baseball player and how his life would be better (1.1.80 90). The main reason
Wilson has Troy behave that way is to show how being angry in the past will hurt one s

Vitamin C Content in Fruit Juices
Aim: To investigate the vitamin C content of fruit juice. Introduction In this experiment I will be
finding out which fruit juice contains the most vitamin C. I will be using a method similar to titration
but I will be using a syringe instead of a burette.
Vitamin C Vitamin C also known as ascorbic acid is needed for growth and maintenance of healthy
tissues, especially skin, blood vessels, bones, gums, teeth. Vitamin C aids in resistance against
infection and healing of wounds. It also helps the body absorb iron from food. Vitamin C can be found
in green vegetables, potatoes, tomatoes and citrus fruits such as oranges and lemon. A lack of vitamin
C can cause scurvy, iron deficiency and poor wound healing. A healthy diet ... Show more content on

My dependant variable is the amount of Vitamin C in each fruit juice. I will observe the solution when
it is decolourizing. I will use the same volume of DCPIP solution for each fruit juice so that the results
are accurate and valid. I will use the results from this experiment to work out how much vitamin C the
fruit juices contain.
Preliminary Test In the preliminary test I used 3cm3 of DCPIP solution. A large amount of juice was
needed to change the colour of the DCPIP to colourless. I changed the amount of DCPIP solution from
3cm3 to 1cm3. This is because less juice will be needed to change 1cm3 of DCPIP from blue to
colourless. I used test tubes to hold the DCPIP and the 1% ascorbic acid but it was difficult to mix the
two solutions together so I decided to use a boiling tube instead. I tested the 1% ascorbic acid in the
preliminary test and I found that I need less than 3cm3 of the solution.
Equipment
12x Boiling tube
2x Test tube rack
1% DCPIP solution (1cm3 x15)
4x 5ml syringe
1% ascorbic acid (3cm3 x3)
Pineapple juice (30cm3 x3)
Orange Juice (30cm3 x3)
Lemon juice (30cm3 x3)
The boiling tubes will be used to hold the juice and the 1 % DCPIP solution. I will use boiling tubes
because in the preliminary test I used a test tube and I found that the test tube was too small and was
hard to shake the mixture therefore I will be using boiling tubes as the are slightly

Messianic Secret In The Gospel Of Mark
Acknowledging a Lord through Suffering
The Gospel of Mark is structured with parables that reveal the Messianic secret; which answers the
central question of the gospel, Who do you say that I am? (Mark 8:29). Following the parables, the
way of the cross demonstrates in the most humble and vulnerable who Jesus truly is. However, some
people in the bible still struggled to believe the man on the cross was the Son of God; therefore, they
were not fully engaged in discipleship. In the gospel of Mark, Jesus is the son of God, elected by God
to be a suffering messiah that calls people to suffer with him by following the way of the cross and
accept suffering for Christ s sake in order to become a disciple of Jesus.
The central question of the gospel is developed throughout the accounts of parables and the way of the
cross. The parables explain what the Kingdom of God is by representing people as seeds and the soil
is God (Mark 4:1 9). Furthermore, our faith grows gradually like the seed, but the power of the
fruition, the seed developing much wheat, is kept secret to those who cannot answer the central
question of the Gospel. The secrecy of fruition clearly exposes a reoccurring theme of the Messianic
Secret in the Gospel of Mark because Jesus imposes silence to reveal the answer to the central
question of the gospel. It s kept secret because one must know who Christ is and follow the way to the
cross before they can reach the Kingdom of God; which is God himself.

Analysis Of The Screening Pornland By Gail Dines Blurred...
The screening Pornland, produced by Gail Dines, focuses on the pornography industry and how the
visuality of gender and sexuality influences gender construction and the power level between males
and females. The pornography industry constructs males as dominant humans who have no capacity
for love or empathy while females are portrayed as helpless and vulnerable. Moreover, the screening
highlights how sexualised images from pornographic films are slowly becoming a part of popular
culture, especially music videos, television shows and films. For example, the music video of the song
Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke uses a variation of softcore porn, consequently implementing
pornography into normalised culture. The production of pornography is

Examples Of Misrepresentations In Haitian Poetry
Poetry have been a major tool for many Haitian writers to express the triumphs that they have and are
recently faced with, addressing misrepresentations that may have developed about Haiti, and to give
them a sense of hope and encouragement. In most Haitian poems you see the correlation of these
actions taking place in the defense of Haiti. Haiti has been a country who overcame many obstacles
such as; slavery, the Haitian revolution, recently the earthquake are continuing to go through many
more obstacles. Haiti as a whole have been a country for many years that have been up lifting each

light or even to portray a message of truth. In their poems Ports of Sorrow , We be Spirit People ,
Haiti: Statistics of loss and WONGOL all are poems with similar messages in different aspects of
light. The poem Ports of Sorrow by Patrick Sylvain is a poem about the pain that was developed from
the earthquake in Haiti and morn the lives of the people that were lost and a beautiful country that was

Stress Of Nursing Leadership And Management
Stress of Nursing Leadership and Management
On a daily basis, everyone experiences stress. Stressful situation without making adjustments can
effects your health and well being. For example, I worked as a charge nurse and mostly as a RN
supervisor. This job requires to use managerial skills as well as clinical expertise. The work
environment of the skilled nursing facility was mostly short staffed, lack of resources, and overloaded.
I, as a charge nurse, was expected to always be available, to be in control of all, and to serve as role
models in the field. I was the most needed person for other nursing staffs and was demanded to make
a mangier decisions frequently for an unexpected problem. In the overwhelming situations, I have
experienced that the managing role sometimes comes as the huge stressor, and it impacts my ability of
patient care and process of critical thinking. My experience with the stressful situation caused state of
imbalance in myself and the response consisted both physical and emotional consequences in each
step of my professional process. This paper will discuss the stress among the nursing in managing
position who requires leadership, its negative impact, and a strategy to manage the stress.
Nursing is well known as one of most acknowledged stressful jobs. Beside of all the stress factors
mentioned by nurses, charge nurses or nurses in managing position strongly experience higher stress
level due to added accountability for leadership activity.

Introduction . The Prevalence, Affects, And Types Of Stigma
Introduction The prevalence, affects, and types of stigma and stigmatization felt by American gang
members is an under researched topic in the social sciences. While daily experiences in and social
understanding of American culture illustrate that gang membership is a stigmatized identification the
research to support that notion is sorely absent from the greater conversation on gangs, stigma, and
violence in our communities. In an attempt to understand how stigma directly affects gang affiliated
men this report attempts to analyze different elements that directly connect to these men in hopes of
creating an understanding of the stigma that gang involved men feel. These topics are social stigma, a
sense of belonging, and the influence of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The hypothesis states that belonging holds two foundational elements the first, there is a need for
frequent, affectively pleasant interactions with a few other people and second these interactions must
take place in the context of a temporally stable and enduring framework of affective concern for each
other s welfare (Baumeister Leary, 1996). Gangs commonly fulfill these two elements. Burnett states
that a gangs, formation and maintenance are based on its members bared experience of estrangement
from traditional social systems and on the security (emotional and physical) that membership provides
(McMillan Chavis) (Burnett, 1999) . The gang s acceptance of the man and the subsequent sense of
family satisfies the need for affectively pleasant interactions (McMillan Chavis, 1986), and the desire
for protection (Regan) and the ability of gangs to provide such protection secures a man s sense that
his welfare is a concern of those with whom he feels acceptance. As Baumsiester and Leary s article
illustrates belonging is so necessary to personal happiness that those who experience social isolation
are bared from experiencing high levels of happiness (Baumeister Leary). While gang membership
might not provide happiness in the traditional sense they do quench the human need to belong. This
need for acceptance and belonging is only further aggregated through unstable and dangerous Early

Federal Government Regulation (FECA)
The federal government occasionally passes legislation intended to regulate the amount of corruption
that occurs during election season. However, the effects of these regulations have not at all been
collectively positive. These regulations have unfortunately encouraged the increase in campaign
contributions and spending by various nefarious influences.
In the 1970s, FECA brought forth legislation that put limits on federal campaign contributions and
spending, and that set up a system of public funding for presidential campaigns. Limits were placed so
that the only a certain amount of money could be contributed by an individual or party organization to
a candidate in a given year. However, no limits were set on the amount of nonfederal party activity
spending or independent spending by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This legislation banned soft money contributions to national parties, but as with FECA, it allowed
entities to raise and spend unlimited amounts on candidates. 527 groups must only refrain from
coordinating with the campaign and cannot support or reject outright specific candidates. These
groups must also disclose their donors and submit to regulation by the FEC. 501(c) groups, on the
other hand, are not required to disclose their donors. They simply must spend no more than 50% of
their revenue on independent expenditures. So, well connected politicians are still able to raise a large
amount of money via the help of special interest groups interested in buying their time. This situation
also makes it all the more difficult for challengers, as incumbents will likely already have a large
amount of money in their PAC from their previous years in office. Not only that, but if their time in
office was well regarded by lobbyists and special interest groups, incumbents will be able to raise
more money during election season than the challenger who potentially will not bow to the interests of
those

My Evidence In My Writing
Throughout quarter 1, I believe that my ability to find and apply evidence to my writings has
improved over the quarter. Although this skill is still a work in progress for me, I have noticed
tremendous growth in my own confidence through it. My credibility of my evidence has improved
through class discussions.
After the disobedience writing, i saw that i performed well on that specific writing. For me this
specific writing was not challenging because I knew historical events that i could use for my evidence.
By having that background knowledge, it made it less challenging to write for that prompt. I did well
because i referenced historical events for my evidence. This created credibility in my writing because
it was a use of historical facts that were connected to the prompt. We learned evidences to use in
argumentative writing: literature, historical events, and personal anecdotes. Some historical events i
used were MLK Jr, Gandhi, and Harriet Tubman. I stated that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had an idea

different types of argumentative writing in class, i was able to comprehend and apply more credible

Comparison Of The Catcher In The Rye By J. D. Salinger
On January 1, 1919, Jerome David Salinger the author of the iconic novel, The Catcher in the Rye was
born in Manhattan, New York. After receiving national attention for his masterpiece, Salinger became
somewhat of a hermit and led a reclusive life. For a reserved individual, such as J.D. Salinger, what
more suitable way is there to illustrate his own life experiences than a tale of a teenager who entices
the reader through his unique view of the world? Without a doubt, there are multiple parallels that can
be drawn between the lives of Holden and the author himself. In his younger days, J.D. Salinger
attended multiple public schools in Manhattan until his parents decided to enroll him at the McBurney
School, an exclusive private school for ninth and tenth graders. J.D. would flunk out of this school just
as Holden had flunked out of Pencey. According to Holden, there were A million reasons why. It was
one of the worst schools I ever went to. It was full of phonies. And mean guys. You never saw so
many mean guys in your life. (167). Even though the circumstances of Holden s and Salinger s
unceremonious exits from Pencey and McBurney respectively, were eerily similar, the school that
Salinger would be sent to the next and eventually graduate from Valley Forge Military Academy
would become the blueprint for Pencey Prep as it appeared in The Catcher in the Rye. The
arrangement of Pencey s dormitories was derived from Valley Forge. There was even a boy named

Immanuel Kant On Free Will
Do humans truly have free will or are their lives completely predetermined? This question of free will
has and will always remain to be a place for argument in philosophy. Many of the great philosophers
attempted to answer this question, but none did as well of a job as Immanuel Kant. He lays the basis
of his argument in his Prolegomena to any Future Metaphysics. Kant writes this prolegomena in
response to David Hume s of skepticism, and therefore, Kant is attempting to more firmly ground

When broken down Kant is appealing to both his thesis and his antithesis; he is agreeing with both.
Kant agrees that humans are beings of nature and therefore they follow the rules of nature, but he also
is accepting his thesis by saying that they are free. But in the former case reason is the cause of these
laws of nature, and therefore free; in the latter, the effects follow according to mere natural laws of
sensibility (Prolegomena). Instead of rejecting the laws of nature and saying that humans are free of
all ties, he is agreeing that certain things do govern the way in which humans act. Furthermore, he
suggest that Freedom is therefore no hindrance to natural law in appearances: neither does this law
abrogate the freedom of the practical use of reason, which is connected with things in themselves, as
determining grounds (Prolegomena). Regardless of natural law humans are free and neither one
interferes with the other. His prolegomena is not the only work where Kant addresses free will. In his
work, Groundwork for the Metaphysics of Morals, Kant suggests that morality is based on the concept
of freedom. He states, A rational being must always regard himself as law giving in a realm of ends
that is possibly only through the freedom of the will, and this holds whether he belongs to the realm as
a member or as sovereign (Groundwork). Therefore mankind must

What Are The Features Of Organizations And Formal,...
Objective Describe the features of organizations and bureaucracies formal, informal, gendered, and
network (Pages 179 195, 197). An organization is a collective purposely constructed to achieve
particular ends (pg 179). Sociology deals with organizations largely because of Max Weber s thinking
on a specific type of organization, the bureaucracies (pg 179). A bureaucracy is a highly rational
organization, especially one that is highly efficient (pg 179). In an ideal typical bureaucracy there is a
continuous series of offices, or positions, within the organization, each with its own function and set
of rules (pg 179). Other characteristics of a bureaucracy are: each office has a specified sphere of
competence, each of the offices exist in a vertical hierarchy, the positions have technical requirements,
those who hold those offices must undergo the needed training and do not own the things needed to do
the job for example, computers, desks, etc (pg 179). Lastly, those who occupy a particular office
cannot take the office as their own and everything of formal importance (administrative acts,
decisions, rules) is in writing (pg 180). Formal organization is how the organization is supposed to
work as in Weber s ideal typical formal bureaucracy, informal organization is how an organization
actually works as opposed to how it is supposed to work (pg 183). The informal organization can help
make up for inadequacies in the formal organization (Gulati and Puranam 2009).

The Structure Of The Circus Maximus In Ancient Rome
In Rome there was a large stadium called the Circus Maximus . The Circus Maximus was a mass
entertainment venue used to hold chariot races, gladiatorial competitions, religious ceremonies and
athletic events. The Circus Maximus was built on the level ground of the Valley of Murcia , between
Rome s Aventine and Palatine Hills. In Rome s early days, the valley would have been rich
agricultural land, prone to flooding from the river Tiber and the stream which divided the valley. The
circus was founded by King Tarquinius Priscus in the 6th Century BC, when the marshy valley
separating Palatine hill from Aventine Hill was drained just for its construction.
The circus maximus was the first and largest Chariot Racing Stadium built in ancient Rome. It
measured 621 m in length and 118 m in width, and could seat approximately 250,000 people, which
was over a quarter of the city s population.
The design of the Circus Maximus included a stretched oval arena with a flat end, which was where
the starting blocks were located. Chariots would enter the track when metal barriers were lifted. A
lavish luxury box was built high upon Palatine hill specifically for the Emperor to oversee the
games. The Circus Maximus design was lacking in one way, as the city grew in population and wealth,
the seating in the Circus had to grow to accommodate them.
Stone counterparts quickly replaced the original wooden seats. Gaius Julius Caesar ordered the
construction and seating was increased to 150,000

BDSM And Demographic Study
BDSM is a taboo topic for most and often times the people who practice it are persecuted. When most
people think of submissives or dominants within BDSM, they believe that the practitioners are in
some way mentally disturbed. However, there is research that has found evidence which contradicts
this thought. One study used scientific scales to measure how much of a specific set of traits each role
appeared to contain and whether this was abnormal in comparison to normative data. The other study
interviewed several practitioners from both roles on what traits they thought suited them for their own
roles and which ones suited those of the opposite role. I am hoping to understand why people feel the
need to submit to or dominate others and I also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was also thought that dominants might score higher on extraversion than submissives because
greater confidence might be necessary to ensure that BDSM play goes well and ends successfully.
However, dominants did not score higher than submissives on conscientiousness which was
surprising, but it might be due to the fact that submissives must be careful to ensure their safety.
Dominants actually ended up scoring higher on self esteem than submissives though this might be due
to the validation they receive during BDSM play. They found that in general well being, openness to
experience, altruism, honesty humility, and agreeableness, there was little no significant difference
between submissives and dominants. They thought that all the traits except altruism were likely
caused by a need for care and empathy during BDSM play. However, altruism was lower than
normative data. This might be similar to how a persecuted group acts. Submissives did score higher on
emotionality than dominants perhaps because it is important for dominants to be calm and

A Positive Relation Between Organizations, Human...
Additionally, trust in organizations is a positive relation with behavior at the workplace and is
connected with unions, human resources, and government interventions. Most government
marketplace interventions have used the alternative treatment principle of triage to split those in pain
into three groups : those who cannot be helped with the assets offered ,those who will recuperate (or at
least continue ) without any help, and those who will improve only with instant
assistance(Sastre,2010, chap.16).In some anxiety, managers have progressively advanced in training,
structural behavior, and job improvement to help workers. In order that a company is productive a
union, human resources, and government interventions must allow workers to change their habits,
skills, values, beliefs, and attitudes in a workforce. This process will more likely take some hard work
and years to process. They need to accept dissatisfactions and unpredicted consequences of solutions to
difficult problems, and the continuing power to work determinedly at improving the quality of help
the workers receive.
The federal government has intervened in the past and is still adjusting market outcomes. They are
keeping up with the needs of workers. The Home Ower Loan Corporation, Continental Illinois in
1994, The Savings and Loan Crisis of the 1980s, and Brady bonds in 1989 are some government
interventions which modify market outcomes.
One of the lessons from these four instances of government intervention is

Protect Pollinator Populations
Why Regulations Are Needed to Protect Pollinator Populations
Currently, an estimated 3.2 million tons of pesticides are used each year (Hicks, 2012).
Pesticides are normally misused by people with little knowledge or care for their harmful effects.
Without effective enforcement of regulations, pesticides are easily spread beyond their projected
areas. According to research, the overuse of pesticides causes many human diseases, animal diseases,
and disruptions in our ecosystem. Well defined regulations, along with consumer education, could
limit the misuse of pesticides and protect our fragile pollinator populations from continued decline to
help ensure future food sources for many generations to come.
Neonicotinoids are the most widely used pesticides in the world. Neonicotinoid toxins can remain in
soil and water for up to two years ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fifty two percent of pesticides are in your drinking water due to the use of chlorine to disinfect it.
Farmers only use 17% (Lah, 2011). Chlorine is also harmful to bees, which are the main animal
species that pollinates. Most chlorine contains neonicotinoids which are chemicals that are active
ingredients in many pesticides. Multiple pesticide products used by homeowners have manufacture
recommended rates for applications 120x higher than rates for agriculture crops (Jennifer Hopwood,
2012).
An estimated 2.2 million people are at risk due to exposure from agricultural pesticides, with the
majority of this population being located in developing nations (Hicks, 2012). Most people affected by
pesticides contract them by consuming food contaminated with a high concentration of pesticides. In
humans, pesticides can cause headaches, blurred vision, vomiting, abdominal pain, immune system
suppression, blood and liver diseases, asthma, and even nerve damage. Pollinators, and other animals
living around the streams where pesticides accumulate experience many of these same

Sociological Imagination Analysis
According to C. Wright Mills, the sociological imagination is when an individual views his society as
the potential reason for his or her daily successes and/or failures. People often view their personal
issues as social problems and try to connect their individual experiences with the mechanisms of
society. Mills believes that this is the way for individuals to gain an understanding of their personal
predicaments. The sociological imagination helps people connect their own problems with public
problems and their history.
In order for an individual to figure out the causes of their problems, they first have to be able to
understand the causes of the problems in the society in which they are living in. The sociological
imagination tries to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A trouble occurs within an individual s relations with others. A trouble is a private matter where
personal values are felt to be threatened. Issues, on the other hand, deal with matters that go beyond
the immediate environment of an individual. Issues are public matters. Where values shared by publics
are threatened. An issue, Mills explains, often involves a crisis in institutional arrangements.
If people are suffering due to public institutions whether by design or through their failures we as a
society need to recognize the patters. Not at the individual trouble level, but as a public issue. Wright
Mills major focus was mainly focused on social inequality, the authority of elites, the declining middle
class, the relationship between individuals and society, and the importance of an historical perspective
as a key part of sociological thinking.
The empowering nature of the sociological imagination points to another fundamentally significant
aspect of the sociological perspective that society and all that happens within it is made by people.
Society is a social product, and as such, its structures, its institutions, norms, ways of life, and
problems are changeable. Just as social structures and forces act on us and shape our lives, we act on
them with our choices and actions. Throughout our daily lives and sometimes momentous ways, our
behavior both validates and reproduces society as it is, or it

New Jersey And Southern States
For a few years , New Jersey and northeastern states have had very rough winters. There was one last
year in Hamilton Township, where school was canceled for almost a month because of the harsh
weather. This year, forecasters are predicting at least one to three feet of snow that will shut down
roads and schools for days. Even flights are affected by this storm, more than 6,500 flights in and out
of the region were canceled, and many of them may not take off again until Wednesday. New York
City s subways and buses planned to shut down completely by 11 p.m., and commuter railroads across
the Northeast also announced plans to stop running overnight, leaving workers to scramble to get
home before roads become impossible to drive on. Boston was expected to get 2 to 3 feet of snow,
New York 1 ½ to 2 feet, and Philadelphia more than a foot. The National Weather Service issues a
blizzard warning for a 250 mile swath for the region, meaning heavy, blowing snow and potential
white out conditions. Forecasters warned that the wind could gust to 75 mph or more along the
Massachusetts coast, and up to 50 mph farther inland. Authorities banned travel on all streets and
highways in New Jersey and New York City and Long Island and warned that violators could be fined
$300. Even food deliveries were off limits on the streets of takeout friendly Manhattan. Governors in
five states New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire declared

Should The Government Put A Cap On Contingency Fees
Contingency fees are fixed as a percentage, usually between 25 and 40 percent of a client s recovery in
certain types of lawsuits such as car accidents, work accidents or personal injury lawsuits (2012).
Contingency fees are set as percentage of the damages awarded to the client, an attorney receive his
fees only if the case is won. Why I think that the government should put a cap on contingency fees at
20 percent of the award: I think that the government should put a 20 percent cap on contingency fees
involving automobile accidents and personal injury lawsuits, because the cases are drawn out for at
least 1 year, then when the client receives their settlement the money has to go toward hospital bills,
legal fees and other personal expenses.

World War 1 Essay
In today s digital age, development of new technology and weapons are at an alarming rate, hence
arises the need to stay ahead of advancements in order to properly defend the nation, as well as
coalition forces and allies. In this period of warfare, the number one threat comes in the form of air
breathing and ballistic missiles. During World War II, this threat was present, but was not thought to
be prevalent. Following World War I, and into the beginning of World War II, the United States of
America was still recuperating from the first war, and therefore did not engage. The focus was
reestablishing the military in the form of personnel and equipment. It was becoming evident that the
forward shift in technology was forcing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, the officer on duty ignored the warning. Had he not, the attack on Pearl Harbor could
have been less severe, if not countered completely. In addition, the task of almost the entirety of the air
defense of Pearl Harbor fell upon the United States Navy and the United States Air Corp, despite the
16th Coast Artillery Regiment having eighty two 3 inch anti aircraft guns, twenty 37 mm anti aircraft
guns, and one hundred and nine .50 caliber anti aircraft machine guns. The Army Air Corp s P 36 and
P 40 pursuit planes were the main deterrent to enemy aircraft, unfortunately, this was the target of the
Japanese Naval Fleet (Anti aircraft). At the end of the attack, only a few P 36 s were able to escape the
barrage of bullets and bombs, and managed to destroy ten of the Japanese Zero s, while the 16th Coast
Artillery Regiment brought down six. Ironically, four years prior, in June of 1937, the United States
War Department began drafting a plan to increase the continental anti aircraft artillery due to rising
tensions with Japan, yet was not approved until late 1940. The plan called for increasing the number
of 3 inch guns from 135 to 472, as well as increasing the number of regiments to 80, which would
account for roughly 4,000,000 service men, solely for the defense of the continental United States.
The Secretary of War, Henry L. Stimson, approved the project for Pearl Harbor, which would increase

Automotive Ethics Of The Automotive Industry Essay
Automotive ethics is a subject that is often over looked. Not many people look at what is ethical in the
automotive industry, most people are generally happy if they can get a good deal on a car. However,
automotive ethics has an affect on how automobiles are made, what rules the government puts on
them, and their danger on the environment. Before the engine was invented, life revolved around a
much more complicated system of transportation. Much advancement in technology has been made to
make the common lifestyle today much easier, For example, cellular telephones and onboard
navigation systems (gps) in automobiles. Cellular telephones and navigation systems (gps) have
become an everyday item, but nobody looks at the dangers that can have while operating a motor
vehicle. Before the invention of the modern day engine, lifestyles were completely different. Letters
were sent by horse in wagons, people traveled by horses and other such animals, often taking an entire
day to go twenty miles. The first fuel engine was not invented until 1923. It only took one year before
this engine was put into automobiles, making the lives of the public much easier. The invention of the
engine not only made it possible to travel by road, but also by water and air. Mail, letters and more
were no longer delivered by horses and families were able to travel from one place to another in less
than a day. However, the affects of the modern day engine can be seen all over the world. For

The Most Popular Secret Santa Gifts
The tradition of giving anonymous gifts at Christmas has its roots in Scandinavia, where Secret Santa
is known as Julklapp. This word is a compound of Jul (which means Christmas ) and Klapp , which
means knocking. In Scandinavian countries, tradition dictates that a person knocks loudly on the door,
opens the door and throws the gift into the room or otherwise leaves it behind without being seen.
Secret Santa events during the Christmas period have developed their own culture and rules. These
naturally depend on the variation on Secret Santa that applies. For instance, Secret Santa raids have
different rules from Trashy Secret Santas and different rules again than Secret Santa flash mobs. Every

  • 2. Childhood In Trevor s Crowd Slightly before World War II, Adolf Hitler rose to power by promising great things for the German people. He also had a quite public hatred of Jewish people, which was ignored because of the other things he promised. This is an example of people blindly following a leader. It is a theme that is occasionally repeated in books. Greene Graham shows a group of kids following a leader who demands radical changes and alterations. Graham warns the reader about how a crowd of people will follow orders from a fierce leader blindly. Trevor is an idealistic, emotionally unstable child. The term child is used loosely, as Trevor s age is never directly stated. Trevor acts like a teenager would when he is first introduced, being very grim and dour. Trevor gave Mike a dark gaze (1) when Mike laughed at Trevor s overly fancy name. Trevor acts tough when he is introduced to build some admiration for himself by others and for people to be intimidated by him. Trevor immediately assumes that the gang he got accepted into is for tough , or intimidating people. This is why he first rarely talks and has a brooding silence that all recognized (1). His brooding silence fits with his tough guy persona. Trevor is disappointed in how the gang reacts to situations, like when Old Misery handed the gang ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His childish nature is exposed again, leading to him not being a good leader, which lets him be replaced. Blackie seizes the opportunity and begins to order the kids around. During this season, there is Gaelic festival, Samhain that marks the beginning of the winter and the end of the harvest season. Samhain represents another powerful moment for future divining, as there is a thin barrier between the spirit and reality worlds. According to the Celtic people, Beltane marks the time of sacred alchemical marriage between god Bael, their solar father and goddess Danu, their earth mother. Moreover, the marriage and the intercourse of Bael, the solar father and Danu the earth mother is symbolized by the performance of the Maypole dance during this season. Not only do they work for humans tirelessly, but they do it with a smile on their face and a wag in their tail, and they are non judgmental towards people with disabilities. People utilized the help and companionship dogs provided even hundreds of years ago. However, many people see dogs as futile, considering training, money, time, and work that is put into owning a dog, let alone having it specifically trained to do a certain job. It is also risky putting so much time and effort into a dog, being aware that they are very capable of making mistakes just as humans are. Also, many people do not know the depth of the work that dogs provide, or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some disabled people feel very disconnected from normal people, but a service dog helps them overcome that, and also become more independent. Service dogs seem to positively influence socialization and community participation in a variety of environments. Two studies observed partnerships in natural environments (Eddy et al., 1988; Mader et al., 1989) and reported that community members smiled and conversed with children and adults with service dogs more than children and adults without service dogs, and community members did not avoid the person with a disability as much when a service dog was present (Winkle, Crowe, and Hendrix 57). Service dogs allow disabled people to do more things on their own, with the help of the dog, and feel like they do not have to rely on other people to help them as much. In addition, when a disabled person has a service dog, they have a companion that is by their side throughout the day, boosting their confidence. Presnall writes: Jennifer had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at the age of sixteen... I felt kind of repulsive and unlovable in that wheelchair, [Jennifer] says. But I knew a service dog would look at me and just think I was cool (8). More evidence of this is proven with the bond between David, a man who had both of his legs amputated above his knees, and his dog Inca. Inca s arrival has made a huge difference to David s life, both emotionally and physically (Bidder 48). Thus, service dogs impact their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Massacre Of Israeli Delegates At The Summer Munich... The events of the past have a way of transforming themselves over time. Something that occurred mere minutes ago can evolve over the next few hours, and an event that seemed so straight forward many years past finds itself a new meaning within the greater context of the period. The same concept applies to a specific event a mere 45 years ago, namely the massacre of Israeli delegates at the summer Munich Olympics of 1972. This event is now portrayed in standard textbooks as being part of a larger event of the time period, one of the lingering effects of the Jordanian Civil War of 1971, an event that has been dubbed Black September in the history books. As a result of the efforts of the Jordanians placed against various Palestinian groups during the war, the Fatah, a militant Palestinian group and PFLP, another radical group, jointly created a terror group named after the conflict. The Black September Organization attempted to force revenge on both the Jordanian authority and the Israelis, who had occupied their lands in Palestine. The organization became known to assassinate Israelis abroad in an act of revenge (Smith). However, at the time of the Olympics, the world s reaction was not as cut and dry as it is today. In both the political and public worlds, the attitude was one of shock and horror. The Secretary General of the United Nations said that while the event was, on its own, one that was terrible, it was made worse by infringing on the idea that the Olympic Games ... • 8. Analysis Of Fences By August Wilson All people deal with emotions in everyday life and most will have problems controlling their emotions at some point in time. However, when emotions get out of hand people can start having problems in their daily life. In August Wilson s play Fences, he uses his piece to explain that someone unable to control their actions caused by selfish, hatred, or angry emotions will cause issues in one s personal life, general decisions, and in family life. Wilson hopes to target people who can t control their emotions and wishes to prevent the negative effects of uncontrolled actions caused by negative emotion. The inability to control one s emotions can harm their friends, decision making, and family. Wilson main reason of writing the play is to show the audience that uncontrolled emotion can be harmful in one s life. In Wilson s play, he uses the character Troy, a man who is a married man with a rough history and has anger issues. Troy personal life is heavily influenced by his emotion especially the anger from his past. Troy spends the majority of the play stating that he was unable to play baseball due to his race even though he claims to be better than the majority of players playing at the time. All through the play, Troy told Rose his wife, Cory, and Bano about how if he was white he would be a professional baseball player and how his life would be better (1.1.80 90). The main reason Wilson has Troy behave that way is to show how being angry in the past will hurt one s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I will be using a method similar to titration but I will be using a syringe instead of a burette. Vitamin C Vitamin C also known as ascorbic acid is needed for growth and maintenance of healthy tissues, especially skin, blood vessels, bones, gums, teeth. Vitamin C aids in resistance against infection and healing of wounds. It also helps the body absorb iron from food. Vitamin C can be found in green vegetables, potatoes, tomatoes and citrus fruits such as oranges and lemon. A lack of vitamin C can cause scurvy, iron deficiency and poor wound healing. A healthy diet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My dependant variable is the amount of Vitamin C in each fruit juice. I will observe the solution when it is decolourizing. I will use the same volume of DCPIP solution for each fruit juice so that the results are accurate and valid. I will use the results from this experiment to work out how much vitamin C the fruit juices contain. Preliminary Test In the preliminary test I used 3cm3 of DCPIP solution. A large amount of juice was needed to change the colour of the DCPIP to colourless. I changed the amount of DCPIP solution from 3cm3 to 1cm3. This is because less juice will be needed to change 1cm3 of DCPIP from blue to colourless. I used test tubes to hold the DCPIP and the 1% ascorbic acid but it was difficult to mix the two solutions together so I decided to use a boiling tube instead. I tested the 1% ascorbic acid in the preliminary test and I found that I need less than 3cm3 of the solution. • 11. Messianic Secret In The Gospel Of Mark Acknowledging a Lord through Suffering The Gospel of Mark is structured with parables that reveal the Messianic secret; which answers the central question of the gospel, Who do you say that I am? (Mark 8:29). Following the parables, the way of the cross demonstrates in the most humble and vulnerable who Jesus truly is. However, some people in the bible still struggled to believe the man on the cross was the Son of God; therefore, they were not fully engaged in discipleship. In the gospel of Mark, Jesus is the son of God, elected by God to be a suffering messiah that calls people to suffer with him by following the way of the cross and accept suffering for Christ s sake in order to become a disciple of Jesus. The central question of the gospel is developed throughout the accounts of parables and the way of the cross. The parables explain what the Kingdom of God is by representing people as seeds and the soil is God (Mark 4:1 9). Furthermore, our faith grows gradually like the seed, but the power of the fruition, the seed developing much wheat, is kept secret to those who cannot answer the central question of the Gospel. The secrecy of fruition clearly exposes a reoccurring theme of the Messianic Secret in the Gospel of Mark because Jesus imposes silence to reveal the answer to the central question of the gospel. It s kept secret because one must know who Christ is and follow the way to the cross before they can reach the Kingdom of God; which is God himself. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The screening Pornland, produced by Gail Dines, focuses on the pornography industry and how the visuality of gender and sexuality influences gender construction and the power level between males and females. The pornography industry constructs males as dominant humans who have no capacity for love or empathy while females are portrayed as helpless and vulnerable. Moreover, the screening highlights how sexualised images from pornographic films are slowly becoming a part of popular culture, especially music videos, television shows and films. For example, the music video of the song Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke uses a variation of softcore porn, consequently implementing pornography into normalised culture. • 16. Introduction . The Prevalence, Affects, And Types Of Stigma Introduction The prevalence, affects, and types of stigma and stigmatization felt by American gang members is an under researched topic in the social sciences. While daily experiences in and social understanding of American culture illustrate that gang membership is a stigmatized identification the research to support that notion is sorely absent from the greater conversation on gangs, stigma, and violence in our communities. In an attempt to understand how stigma directly affects gang affiliated men this report attempts to analyze different elements that directly connect to these men in hopes of creating an understanding of the stigma that gang involved men feel. The hypothesis states that belonging holds two foundational elements the first, there is a need for frequent, affectively pleasant interactions with a few other people and second these interactions must take place in the context of a temporally stable and enduring framework of affective concern for each other s welfare (Baumeister Leary, 1996). Gangs commonly fulfill these two elements. Burnett states that a gangs, formation and maintenance are based on its members bared experience of estrangement from traditional social systems and on the security (emotional and physical) that membership provides (McMillan Chavis) (Burnett, 1999) . The gang s acceptance of the man and the subsequent sense of family satisfies the need for affectively pleasant interactions (McMillan Chavis, 1986), and the desire for protection (Regan) and the ability of gangs to provide such protection secures a man s sense that his welfare is a concern of those with whom he feels acceptance. As Baumsiester and Leary s article illustrates belonging is so necessary to personal happiness that those who experience social isolation are bared from experiencing high levels of happiness (Baumeister Leary). While gang membership might not provide happiness in the traditional sense they do quench the human need to belong. This need for acceptance and belonging is only further aggregated through unstable and dangerous Early Childhood ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 18. Federal Government Regulation (FECA) The federal government occasionally passes legislation intended to regulate the amount of corruption that occurs during election season. However, the effects of these regulations have not at all been collectively positive. These regulations have unfortunately encouraged the increase in campaign contributions and spending by various nefarious influences. In the 1970s, FECA brought forth legislation that put limits on federal campaign contributions and spending, and that set up a system of public funding for presidential campaigns. Limits were placed so that the only a certain amount of money could be contributed by an individual or party organization to a candidate in a given year. However, no limits were set on the amount of nonfederal party activity spending or independent spending by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This legislation banned soft money contributions to national parties, but as with FECA, it allowed entities to raise and spend unlimited amounts on candidates. 527 groups must only refrain from coordinating with the campaign and cannot support or reject outright specific candidates. These groups must also disclose their donors and submit to regulation by the FEC. 501(c) groups, on the other hand, are not required to disclose their donors. They simply must spend no more than 50% of their revenue on independent expenditures. So, well connected politicians are still able to raise a large amount of money via the help of special interest groups interested in buying their time. This situation also makes it all the more difficult for challengers, as incumbents will likely already have a large amount of money in their PAC from their previous years in office. Not only that, but if their time in office was well regarded by lobbyists and special interest groups, incumbents will be able to raise more money during election season than the challenger who potentially will not bow to the interests of those ... Although this skill is still a work in progress for me, I have noticed tremendous growth in my own confidence through it. My credibility of my evidence has improved through class discussions. After the disobedience writing, i saw that i performed well on that specific writing. For me this specific writing was not challenging because I knew historical events that i could use for my evidence. By having that background knowledge, it made it less challenging to write for that prompt. I did well because i referenced historical events for my evidence. This created credibility in my writing because it was a use of historical facts that were connected to the prompt. • 20. Comparison Of The Catcher In The Rye By J. D. Salinger On January 1, 1919, Jerome David Salinger the author of the iconic novel, The Catcher in the Rye was born in Manhattan, New York. After receiving national attention for his masterpiece, Salinger became somewhat of a hermit and led a reclusive life. For a reserved individual, such as J.D. Salinger, what more suitable way is there to illustrate his own life experiences than a tale of a teenager who entices the reader through his unique view of the world? Without a doubt, there are multiple parallels that can be drawn between the lives of Holden and the author himself. In his younger days, J.D. Salinger attended multiple public schools in Manhattan until his parents decided to enroll him at the McBurney School, an exclusive private school for ninth and tenth graders. J.D. would flunk out of this school just as Holden had flunked out of Pencey. According to Holden, there were A million reasons why. It was one of the worst schools I ever went to. It was full of phonies. And mean guys. You never saw so many mean guys in your life. (167). Even though the circumstances of Holden s and Salinger s unceremonious exits from Pencey and McBurney respectively, were eerily similar, the school that Salinger would be sent to the next and eventually graduate from Valley Forge Military Academy would become the blueprint for Pencey Prep as it appeared in The Catcher in the Rye. • 21. Immanuel Kant On Free Will Do humans truly have free will or are their lives completely predetermined? This question of free will has and will always remain to be a place for argument in philosophy. Many of the great philosophers attempted to answer this question, but none did as well of a job as Immanuel Kant. He lays the basis of his argument in his Prolegomena to any Future Metaphysics. Kant writes this prolegomena in response to David Hume s of skepticism, and therefore, Kant is attempting to more firmly ground metaphysics. In the introduction Kant says, I openly confess my recollection of David Hume was the very thing which many years ago first interrupted my dogmatic slumber and gave my investigations in the field of speculative philosophy a quite new ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When broken down Kant is appealing to both his thesis and his antithesis; he is agreeing with both. Kant agrees that humans are beings of nature and therefore they follow the rules of nature, but he also is accepting his thesis by saying that they are free. But in the former case reason is the cause of these laws of nature, and therefore free; in the latter, the effects follow according to mere natural laws of sensibility (Prolegomena). Instead of rejecting the laws of nature and saying that humans are free of all ties, he is agreeing that certain things do govern the way in which humans act. Furthermore, he suggest that Freedom is therefore no hindrance to natural law in appearances: neither does this law abrogate the freedom of the practical use of reason, which is connected with things in themselves, as determining grounds (Prolegomena). Regardless of natural law humans are free and neither one interferes with the other. His prolegomena is not the only work where Kant addresses free will. In his work, Groundwork for the Metaphysics of Morals, Kant suggests that morality is based on the concept of freedom. He states, A rational being must always regard himself as law giving in a realm of ends that is possibly only through the freedom of the will, and this holds whether he belongs to the realm as a member or as sovereign (Groundwork). • 22. What Are The Features Of Organizations And Formal,... Objective Describe the features of organizations and bureaucracies formal, informal, gendered, and network (Pages 179 195, 197). An organization is a collective purposely constructed to achieve particular ends (pg 179). Sociology deals with organizations largely because of Max Weber s thinking on a specific type of organization, the bureaucracies (pg 179). A bureaucracy is a highly rational organization, especially one that is highly efficient (pg 179). In an ideal typical bureaucracy there is a continuous series of offices, or positions, within the organization, each with its own function and set of rules (pg 179). Other characteristics of a bureaucracy are: each office has a specified sphere of competence, each of the offices exist in a vertical hierarchy, the positions have technical requirements, those who hold those offices must undergo the needed training and do not own the things needed to do the job for example, computers, desks, etc (pg 179). Lastly, those who occupy a particular office cannot take the office as their own and everything of formal importance (administrative acts, decisions, rules) is in writing (pg 180). Formal organization is how the organization is supposed to work as in Weber s ideal typical formal bureaucracy, informal organization is how an organization actually works as opposed to how it is supposed to work (pg 183). The informal organization can help make up for inadequacies in the formal organization (Gulati and Puranam 2009). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 23. The Structure Of The Circus Maximus In Ancient Rome In Rome there was a large stadium called the Circus Maximus . The Circus Maximus was a mass entertainment venue used to hold chariot races, gladiatorial competitions, religious ceremonies and athletic events. The Circus Maximus was built on the level ground of the Valley of Murcia , between Rome s Aventine and Palatine Hills. In Rome s early days, the valley would have been rich agricultural land, prone to flooding from the river Tiber and the stream which divided the valley. The circus was founded by King Tarquinius Priscus in the 6th Century BC, when the marshy valley separating Palatine hill from Aventine Hill was drained just for its construction. The circus maximus was the first and largest Chariot Racing Stadium built in ancient Rome. It measured 621 m in length and 118 m in width, and could seat approximately 250,000 people, which was over a quarter of the city s population. The design of the Circus Maximus included a stretched oval arena with a flat end, which was where the starting blocks were located. Chariots would enter the track when metal barriers were lifted. A lavish luxury box was built high upon Palatine hill specifically for the Emperor to oversee the games. The Circus Maximus design was lacking in one way, as the city grew in population and wealth, the seating in the Circus had to grow to accommodate them. Stone counterparts quickly replaced the original wooden seats. Gaius Julius Caesar ordered the construction and seating was increased to 150,000 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When most people think of submissives or dominants within BDSM, they believe that the practitioners are in some way mentally disturbed. However, there is research that has found evidence which contradicts this thought. One study used scientific scales to measure how much of a specific set of traits each role appeared to contain and whether this was abnormal in comparison to normative data. The other study interviewed several practitioners from both roles on what traits they thought suited them for their own roles and which ones suited those of the opposite role. It was also thought that dominants might score higher on extraversion than submissives because greater confidence might be necessary to ensure that BDSM play goes well and ends successfully. However, dominants did not score higher than submissives on conscientiousness which was surprising, but it might be due to the fact that submissives must be careful to ensure their safety. Dominants actually ended up scoring higher on self esteem than submissives though this might be due to the validation they receive during BDSM play. They found that in general well being, openness to experience, altruism, honesty humility, and agreeableness, there was little no significant difference between submissives and dominants. They thought that all the traits except altruism were likely caused by a need for care and empathy during BDSM play. However, altruism was lower than normative data. This might be similar to how a persecuted group acts. Submissives did score higher on emotionality than dominants perhaps because it is important for dominants to be calm and ... • 25. A Positive Relation Between Organizations, Human... Additionally, trust in organizations is a positive relation with behavior at the workplace and is connected with unions, human resources, and government interventions. Most government marketplace interventions have used the alternative treatment principle of triage to split those in pain into three groups : those who cannot be helped with the assets offered ,those who will recuperate (or at least continue ) without any help, and those who will improve only with instant assistance(Sastre,2010, chap.16).In some anxiety, managers have progressively advanced in training, structural behavior, and job improvement to help workers. In order that a company is productive a union, human resources, and government interventions must allow workers to change their habits, skills, values, beliefs, and attitudes in a workforce. This process will more likely take some hard work and years to process. They need to accept dissatisfactions and unpredicted consequences of solutions to difficult problems, and the continuing power to work determinedly at improving the quality of help the workers receive. Pesticides are normally misused by people with little knowledge or care for their harmful effects. Without effective enforcement of regulations, pesticides are easily spread beyond their projected areas. According to research, the overuse of pesticides causes many human diseases, animal diseases, and disruptions in our ecosystem. Well defined regulations, along with consumer education, could limit the misuse of pesticides and protect our fragile pollinator populations from continued decline to help ensure future food sources for many generations to come. • 27. Sociological Imagination Analysis According to C. Wright Mills, the sociological imagination is when an individual views his society as the potential reason for his or her daily successes and/or failures. People often view their personal issues as social problems and try to connect their individual experiences with the mechanisms of society. Mills believes that this is the way for individuals to gain an understanding of their personal predicaments. The sociological imagination helps people connect their own problems with public problems and their history. Issues are public matters. Where values shared by publics are threatened. An issue, Mills explains, often involves a crisis in institutional arrangements. If people are suffering due to public institutions whether by design or through their failures we as a society need to recognize the patters. Not at the individual trouble level, but as a public issue. Wright Mills major focus was mainly focused on social inequality, the authority of elites, the declining middle class, the relationship between individuals and society, and the importance of an historical perspective as a key part of sociological thinking. The empowering nature of the sociological imagination points to another fundamentally significant aspect of the sociological perspective that society and all that happens within it is made by people. Society is a social product, and as such, its structures, its institutions, norms, ways of life, and problems are changeable.
