Rating 3.97 out of 5 94 reviews
Washington is home to a diverse mix of ethnicities. As an Asian, I have rarely experienced racial discrimination here, and outside of the Seattle area, it generally feels safe within the Lake Washington School District. Many schools offer a variety of CTE (Career and Technical Education) classes and AP courses, and the school facilities are usually clean. Students in the Lake Washington School District tend to be highly motivated academically, possibly because the area hosts major corporations like Microsoft and Amazon. As a result, many students' parents are likely to work at such companies, which might contribute to the high academic drive among students, especially in challenging and advanced STEM subjects. For those interested in deeper learning in computer science or other STEM fields, and preparing for future career paths like college or employment, coming to the Lake Washington School District could be beneficial.
They are decent; I think they are very standardized in the way they do things, and they definitely treat students like numbers. Some amazing teachers and some teachers that will throw scissors at you.
Overall my high school was a positive experience for me. Sometimes there were too many kids in one class which made it harder to get individual clarification. However, I liked all my teachers and could tell they wanted to teach us.
