Grab a coffee and a pastry from Cafe Bonaparte, and then, from there, take a stroll down Hermosa Beach Pier. Walk further to feel the sand between your toes and enjoy the soothing sounds of the waves crashing along the shore—there’s nothing quite like the peace of these early hours.

If you’re feeling peckish, consider having breakfast with an ocean view at one of the local restaurants. The Good Stuff on the Strand is perfect for either dine-in or take-out. Grab something delicious and maybe even picnic on the beach as the city slowly wakes up around you.

After soaking up the calm of Hermosa, hit the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and head to the unmistakable vibe of Venice Beach. It’s a place with a unique atmosphere you have to experience to understand.

Since its establishment in 1934, the Farmers Market has been a beloved local landmark. Here, you can browse stalls filled with fresh produce, meats, and cheeses or enjoy a meal at one of the many food stands. The market comes alive at night as people gather to dine and socialize. If you’re looking for a place to eat and don’t want to wait for an In-n-Out burger, this market offers various dining options; our favorite is Pampas Grill Churrascaria. I also highly recommend Monsieur Marcel, a French gourmet bistro perfect for treats like fabulous macarons or a glass of wine and a cheese board.
