- Pioneer545726Coventry, UK20 contributionsThis was a great morning out! We saw so many pandas!!! We arrived by taxi from our hotel just after 8am. We booked our tickets through Travel China - we just needed our passports to get in. There were no queues - we went straight in. The research base is wonderful - it is huge and you can soon find space away from larger groups! The panda enclosures are spacious and well managed. We saw lots of giant pandas and red pandas too! It is best to go in the morning when the pandas are eating and active.
There are lots of places to eat and some lovely souvenirs to purchase. Overall, a fantastic experience!
It is easy to travel back into the city by bus and subway.Written May 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We took the bus, boat and cable car up and back, but there are still a lot of stairs to climb. My Fitbit noted just under 5 miles total there and back from main gate. There are plenty of stalls for food and drink and places to rest, take time and enjoy the views through the trees! We were lucky to have dry but cool weather making climbing easier. There are various maps posted further up the mountain making it easy to check progress. We only have cash and found it easy to buy the various extra tickets. Over 60’s free into park, adults 80. Bus 10. Boat 5 cable car 60 return or can get single if walking one way. Porters will carry you up last part but I didn’t even want to try and discover price as might have been tempted, would have felt too guilty as I’m not the lightest.Written November 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Zfy EdSingapore, Singapore9,820 contributionsThis is a lovely "ancient" shopping street located right next to the Wuhou Ci (Wu Hou Shrine Temple of Marquis) where many ancient building structures, historical shop/tea houses along the tiny walklanes and bridges, where you will find like walking into the memory lane of ancient China, though a little touristy.
There are many eateries, restaurants and food booths here, with local and international cusines and you will be spoiled for choices, not to mention, many shops selling souvenirs and local delicacies, arts and handicrafts etc. There's also an open air teahouse where you can enjoy live singing performances (2pm-8pm) while having your drinks under the trees and clear blue sky.
If you come in the evening, that will be perfect as the area wil be lit with many beautiful red lanterns along the walklanes and bridges. It's so nice.Written March 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Even though some was recreated after the cultural revolution, it was interesting to see so many taking part in queues to pray or pay respect at the temple doorways, and the incense burning rituals. This is a great people watching location too. where you can see all manner of dress, family groups, friends. There is a tea house there - we choose not to eat there, but hear it is very good.Written May 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - semitsvetik68Chongqing, China145 contributionsVisited DuFu cottage on May 2, 2021. Not as many people as in other tourist sites. Nice park, traditional Chinese park. I wouldn't say the best one I visited in China, still it has the beauty.Written May 12, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Zfy EdSingapore, Singapore9,820 contributionsIf you are a fan of China history, especially the three kingdom like me, you will surely have to visit this place where history has come alive.
All the while, we have read stories (or in history books) about the three kingdom, also having watched the TV serials and movies about it, what is better than personally coming by to see the real artifacts, displays and figures on display. There are so many things to see and you will feel that you have traveled back in time to the then era!
I like the back gardens (peach gardens) where you can see the beautiful peach trees with flowers, the figurines of the three sworn brothers and the founding, prosperiy and demise of the Shu kingdom. Very detailed and realistic and generally if you are a fan and want to have a sight of everything, you will need simply a day.
For me, due to the rushing schedule, I only spent about 2~3 hrs here before heading to the next destination but it's surely worth visiting.
The admission is RMB 50 and seniors from local, macao or taiwan, aged 60years and above can enter free with the show of identity card or passport.Written March 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Zfy EdSingapore, Singapore9,820 contributionsThis is a green belt in the city that offers locals and visitors a place to slow down the pace of life and destress. There are many trees and beautiful flowers around this big park, with the nice and cute dragon displays (it's the year of the dragon) with artful landscaping, bonsai garden, tea houses, kiddie amusement rides, a pond with row and motor boats. It is tranquil.
And there are monuments to commemorate those who perished during the Xinhai Revoluntionaries and Anti-Japanese era.
You will find that time has stopped temporarily here and you can enjoy in the quietness over a cup of tea, while enjoying the tea pouring demonstration or the pond to relax and recharge!Written March 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The findings are presented in a pleasant and understandable manner. The English audio guide is well done and worth the 20 yuan charge.Written December 18, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Zfy EdSingapore, Singapore9,820 contributionsLocated around the Chunxi Road Metro Station, the Tai Gu Li is a busy all day throughout shopping belt and it is more of a high end shopping. There are many international brand and boutique stores located here (together with some local brands and shopping centers) and if you are a shopaholic or fancy these branded goods, here is the place to go.
And there are also many eateries and restaurants, be it local or foreign, you will have ample food options and choices.
Also from here, you can walk to the IFS to see the great panda display or should you need to take the airport shuttle bus, here is where you should go.
Even if you are not into shopping, coming by here will allow you to indulge in the local culture and lifestyle and you can also see street performers here too at night!Written March 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
