JR West Rail Pass

Hi all,

I'm confused with the different passes available & need some advice on which to get.

So, I'm flying in & out of Nagoya.

First day, I plan to head to Kyoto first and stay for 4 nights.

Then head to Osaka for another 4 nights. I'll do 2-day trips to Kobe & Himeji from Osaka.

Finally moving back to Nagoya for 3 nights.

Do I get the Kansai WIDE Area Pass or Kansai-San’in Area Pass?

Thanks, in advance.

NO rail pass payoff for that itin. Just buy single train tickets would be cheaper.

JR rail pass does NOT cover any city subways in Japan.

JR West passes do NOT cover Tokaido Shinkansen train serving b/w Shin-Osaka to Nagoya station, as stated clearly on the official website.

For savings, consider taking highway buses b/w Nagoya and Kyoto whose fares are cheaper though much slower.
