This is a compilation of Spector's big hits. Unfortunately Spector later in his life became a recluse and then was jailed after he shot his girlfriend. Early he worked at Atlantic Records, he mastered guitar and was partly responsible for Spanish Harlem (Aretha & Ben E. King). He used a recording technique called the "Wall of Sound" multi tracking guitars, bass and drums. Many of the hits in the compilation feature Darlene Love. Ronettes had many hits and Spector even married one of the Ronettes, Spector refused her to leave the house. #1 is He's A Rebel written by Gene Pitney, with the Crystals, Da Doo Ron Ron (Crystals), written by Spector, Be My Baby (Ronettes), Then he Kissed me, Today I met the boy I'm Gonna Marry (Love), He's sure the boy I love (Crystals), Zip A dee doo dah (Walt Disney Movie) Bob B. Sox and the Blue jeans, Walking in the Rain (Ronettes), and one of my favorites UpTown. He hired the Righteous Brothers and co wrote their big hit You've lost that Loving feeling. He felt that River Deep Mountain High with Ike and Tina Turner was going to be a big hit but it was a bust and he left the music business for many years disappointed that it was not a success. Spector later produced albums by George Harrison, John Lennon and Dion. There are 19 hits on this compilation and are excellent examples of his musical genius. it should be a part of any serious musical collector. Excellent pictures and discology included.
