The Hoboken District is truly special. Our schools were kept safely open full-time for the entire 2020-2021 school year, which was an amazing accomplishment attributable to Dr Johnson's incredible leadership and dedication. I've been absolutely blown away by the passion and talent of the staff I've interacted with from K-12; the breadth and quality of academic, athletic and fine arts programming available in the higher grades; and especially the elementary curriculum's focus on social-emotional development and social/equity issues. Not only is my child a full grade level ahead in reading and engaging in STEAM activities regularly, but is learning important lessons like respect, equity and inclusion. Additionally, the community of district families is phenomenal - supportive, diverse and committed to our kids.
The district offers an ideal and unique combination of strengths worth celebrating and the schools are one of the main reasons we plan to stay in Hoboken permanently!

My daughter is in kindergarten at Connors, and I have been thrilled with our experience so far. She began reading at a 3 by February, even though she didn't need to hit that benchmark until June! The afterschool program has a ton of options and is extremely affordable. Other parents are engaged and lovely, the district "curriculum nights" have been unexpectedly awesome (think giant inflatables, activities, and food at the football field), and the international dinner was so spectacular that I can't wait for next year!
My now 5th grader has been attending Brandt Elementary within the Hoboken Public School District since she was in PreK3. That’s 8yrs! We cannot say enough wonderful things about all the teachers we’ve had, the administration and the other families in our community. I’m so happy to call Hoboken our home and look forward to both my children (I also have a 5yr old.) spending their academic years in this district. I’m very excited my child to experience Hoboken Middle School next year, as I learn more and more about all the wonderful additions to the curriculum and after school activities. It warms my heart to know we live in a community that loves its children so much and that they encourage such a positive school experience, K-12.
