Stephen C. Barton, 19, of Madison, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, in Madison.
Born July 14, 1994, in Cleveland, he was the son of Deborah (Sisulak) and John Barton.
Stephen was an active young man who enjoyed snowboarding, soccer and paintball. Growing up, he was active at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church and served for many years as an acolyte. He was also a member of the Lake County Young Marines. Stephen was a kind and caring young man who was always there to help his family and friends.
Survivors are his daughter, Sophia Rose Barton; parents, Debbie and John Barton; sister, Josalyn Barton; girlfriend, Kirsty Slagle; paternal grandparents, Yammy and Pappy Sibert; maternal grandfather, Stephen Sisulak; aunts, Stephanie (Ronald) Pomplas, Christine (Paul) Cook, Pam Vaughn, Cindy (Mickey) Rosato and Jodee Barton; uncle, Curtis (Art) Barton; and many cousins who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Ann Sisulak.
Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 3050 McMackin Road, Madison.
The family has requested any contributions be made for the benefit of Sophia Rose Barton payable to The Stephen C. Barton Memorial Fund. Contributions may be made at any Key Bank branch or mailed to Key Bank, 7850 Plaza Blvd., Mentor, OH 44060, any Cardinal Community Credit Union branch or mailed to Cardinal Community Credit Union, 7700 Clocktower Drive, Kirtland, OH 44094.
