We were very excited about the idea of a smaller “yachting” experience with amazing ports of call. The greeting on the first day was very warm and inviting and our disappointment set in as the days went on. We travelled with our 2 younger daughters, ages 7 and 6, because it was primary a beach cruise. Children are welcome, but they are not “welcome.” SeaDream claims to be 5 star service, but the only thing that is 5 star is the dining and hospitality. We were assured there would be fun activities for the girls to do and that the crew would love having kids aboard. The activity manager didn’t plan a thing all week- it’s sad to say there were not even coloring sheets and crayons. Most of the Marina sports were hardly set up or used. Don’t plan on doing anything except eating and drinking mediocre wine. The best entertainment you get on the SeaDream is “Name That Tune” from a burnt out club director. No music at the pool, excursions consistently cancelled, marina activities consistently cancelled, and really no where to hang out besides the pool or your small cabin. My biggest critique is this cruise line has an identity crisis. It seems like they want older couples, but they “welcome” families with nothing for them to do? They recently invested money into their marina activities that are hardly used, severely mismanaged, and really meant for a younger crowd. A big slide off the yacht and jet skis… I’m pretty sure a couple in their 70s would pass on both! Here’s my tip- either make this an adults only cruise and get rid of the useless slide, or keep it open to all ages and provide a better 5-star experience all around. Our cruise was at half capacity (only 50 guests on board) during spring break. The week before was not at full capacity and the week after only had 90 guests. If you can’t book at full capacity (with a limit of only 110!) then you really need to be open to criticism. On the flip side, I couldn’t give SeaDream any less than 3 stars because of the dining and hospitality. They are extremely lucky to have Eric (head of this department) and the amazing chef on staff! Every dinner was truly a treat. Best of luck to SeaDream- I hope they find their way! We will not book again due to a complete miss from the club director and activity manager.

Everything about this yachting experience was spectacular. From the minute we arrived at embarkation (#Carmella), to the service provided by our favourite crew (#Mikee, #Juan #Seadreamjuan #Alex #Tom, #Lawson), and the fun and picturesque destinations, we loved every minute of our trip. Seadream yachting is an experience that anyone with discerning tastes should experience. Truly an out of this world vacation.

The food was outstanding at every meal. The entire staff is so accomodating...always anxious to please. Every employee addresses every passenger by name. Taylor, the Cruise Director told us "anything is possible" to ensure our satisfaction. I wanted to ride a bike on one of the islands but refused to do it alone. Taylor insisted I couldn't get lost, but I still refused to ride alone in a foreign country, not even aware at the time that I had to ride on the left side of the road (that never occured to me). Taylor arranged to have the chief engineer of the ship take me on a nice bike ride while the engineer was using his free time off the yacht. The wait staff, including Jonathan, Marc and Russell (to name but a few) were always so accomodating. They wouldn't let me carry my own plate from the buffet to my table, and they were always concerned for our safety when we negotiated the 3 steps on the stairway when we returned to our table. One night we had a fabulous appetizer of shrimp prawns and rissoto. I happened to mention that it was so delicious it should really be an entree, not an appetizer. The chef heard about that and a day or 2 later I was given a plate of that for my lunch meal. Brenda, the Concierge always made sure we were satisfied in every way. My wife experienced seasickness on our first night. Brenda immediately sent medication, ginger ale and an apple to our stateroom. Problem solved. We visited several beaches that were beautiful beyond words. One excursion that was a highlight of the week for me was tubing down a river. I highly recommend that trip. No experience necessary. The final BBQ on Mayreau Island was considerably more than just hamburgers and hot dogs on a grill. It included skewers of shrimp and chicken, BBQ ribs and much MUCH more. The piano bar was a delightful bit of evening entertainment. The pianist-vocalist knew our favorites and replayed the same songs the following evening, telling my wife these were for her. The only negative of the trip was that we were on a yacht, considerably smaller than the cruise ships. As such it didn't withstand high winds or turbulent water as well. The boat rocked and swayed on the first and last days when we were on the Atlantic. When we were advised on using the medication they provided we were fine. Don't let this deter you from having a week you will remember and cherish for a long time.
