Location is excellent, hotel is clean etc but the the COVID measures in place were not well thought out at all and need adjustment. First, the plexi in the front is fine of course but don't have someone at the front desk who speaks so quietly no one can hear her. Also again fine that you have to fill out the screening online form, but why not send that to customers 2 hours BEFORE checkin??? My check in too 20 minutes or more because of this and then after you are done they give you papers to fill out in person with the exact same info you just gave online! Its absurd. In terms of the rooms, I have stayed at a Hilton during COVID as well and Holiday Inn Express has some work to do. i did not feel the same level of safeness there as I did at the Hilton. At the Hilton everything was stickered that was sanitized, so you knew the room had been cleaned, right down to a seal on the room, the TV remote etc it was fantastic and people were made to wear masks. Also, our cream on the counter had been used so I knew it was not freshly cleaned.…
Quickly in need of a place to stay for a few days and popped into The Holiday Inn Express on Consumers Drive in Whitby. I couldnt believe the lovely greeting i received from Ali, he was friendly, welcoming and accommodating. He checked me in quickly and gave me a good rate for the room which was so clean, I was impressed! A massive tv, two large beds, and a big shiny white bathroom greeted me. The hotel hallways were vacuumed every day and the housekeepers kept me in fresh supplies. I wanted for nothing - including a toothbrush, which they supplied! I had the pleasure of meeting Tammy and Bob (front desk staff) as well, both treated me like a friend and I had a wonderfu chat with Bob. What a nice guy! I felt like Id met friends who let me stay in their fabulous home.
We stayed here to avoid staying downtown Toronto and get a little better value for money. I was a quick 10 minute walk to the GoTrain station for a $10 ride (1hr) to Union Station. This is a viable option to avoid driving downtown. There are a number of restaurants in walking and a short drive away too. Check in was fantastic and quick with a nice employees who were fantastic. In fact, we left our car there for the day before checking in that night, and they had no issues. We would certainly say, the employees we interacted with were top notch. We had a nice room on the second floor and it was clean and comfortable. It was obviously recently renovated. We had a great nights sleep. There is a weight room and outdoor pool too, that looked good, but we didn't get a chance to use them. While the breakfast area was tight, it was clean, maintained, and had a good selection of food you normally see at a Holiday Inn Express. This will be an option the next time we are in the area.…
The staff at this hotel were wonderful and the included breakfast is a real breakfast with bacon & eggs, not just dry tost and stale buns like the "free" breakfast at so many places. Unfortunately the facility here is very poor. The bed is very high and so soft that you sink into a hole that feels like a booby trap and is almost impossible to get out of. We will certainly never return here and that is too bad because the great staff here deserves to have a much better facility to run.
Nothing remarkable here. Lobby area is smaller than some properties and separated from room hallways by double doors. Staff was friendly. Rooms were clean. Beds were firm and comfortable. We would probably choose to return on another trip through the area.
Great hotel. It would have a bit better if we had had more time in the outdoor pool but we were time slotted because of covid 🤬. Beautiful clean rooms. Highly recommend it. Did a great job with all the covid protocols and made sure customers felt protected from all the covid measures.
I stayed here for 3 nights and found it to be very clean and conveniently located seconds to the 401. There are a couple restaurants and many fast food choices all within walking distance. The service was good and the complimentary breakfast was better than most I've had at other Holiday Inn Express hotels. My only complaint and reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is due to a drainage issue in the shower. By the time I finished showering each morning the water was up to my ankles.
You can never go wrong when staying at the Holiday Inn Express. You always know what to expect and this stay was no exception. Clean room with a great bed. Nice size bathroom. Hotel is up to date and great staff . Free breakfast is always a bonus. Little bit higher price but worth it.
Nice rooms, really good people. Receptionist named Angela was really helpful as was another lady who helped us out. Unfortunately did not get her name. Very clean and close to many area restaurants within walking distance.
This was a cottage stay for cancer treatment. The staff was beyond lovely they made our stay a home away from home. I will stay there again anytime. The breakfast where always great and everyone was so friendly and helpful. A big thank you from Krista and Cheryl room 104.
