Fabulous. My wife and I were driving back to Canada. She found this little gem online. The accommodations and service were second to none. Our 5 coarse meal was outstanding in every aspect. We would highly recommend this place

Love this place. Food, cocktails, atmosphere, service...all top-notch, and a great value. No, it's not "cheap eats" but great quality at a very reasonable price point. Pimento cheese "amuse" was a nice treat (as were the complimentary buttery cookie "happy ending.") Shrimp & grits, rockfish, toffee cake all very good. The Rosemary's Baby and Old Fashioned cocktails were just right. I wish I could remember our server's name, because she's exceptional.

We wanted a nice restaurant to celebrate a birthday, and the reviews for Ivy Inn Restaurant convinced me to reserve a table for 2. Parking is convenient, and the restaurant is located in an old home with intimate dining areas. I felt the tables were nicely spaced out, you weren't on top of other diners and the small rooms didn't seem too loud. Simon was our server, received excellent, attentive service throughout the meal. My hubby ordered the spicy lamb pasta, really enjoyed it, and I had the baked chicken with pecans, happy with it also. Value for the meal was fine, entrees in the $20's to $30's range.

Three of us all had superior meals. My trout was awesome as was everthing we ordered. Our server Kyle was fantastic. It wasn't cheap but definitely worth the extra money.

Excellent food in a cozy, quaint atmosphere. We each had lamb and it was absolutely delicious! The waiter said it is one of the chef’s specialties. We also had crème brûle and key lime pie for desserts. They were fantastic as well. The menu changes very frequently according to our waiter. This is more of an upscale dining experience.

What a great choice! We were in Charlottesville for a wedding and I swayed away from the recommendations by the newlyweds after reading the reviews of the Ivy Inn. I can't be sure but I think there were about 4 different smallish rooms with only a few tables to enjoy an intimate meal with another couple. Everything was made from scratch. Our waiter provided a lot of information as to their signature dishes. A must try are the ham biscuits, something we Northerners don't normally get to enjoy when dining out. My husband's white truffle pasta was excellent; it was so good he regretted ordering just the appetizer-sized portion, even though that is always a nice option. Everyone was thrilled with each course. I loved the character of the place and human experience of dining here. A mature restaurant in a lovely setting with excellent food and wine. Who could ask for anything more?

Celebrated our anniversary here. They made it special. The menu had an anniversary message and they provided free cookies. I selected the red pepper soup and a rockfish entree while my wife had a fried green tomato salad and ravioli. Both were wonderful. Cocktails were very good and we capped the night with key lime pie and a chocolate cake. This restaurant is a bit difficult to find even with GPS (a bigger sign would be nice) but it did offer parking. Teresa was our friendly, efficient and professional waitress. Overall, a wonderful experience.

From out of town and looked for a special place for dinner and we found it. Both our meals were very good. One of the best restaurant meals I have ever had. The service was excellent, not too overbearing but always easy to find if we needed anything. As we were from out of town the chances of going back are slim but if we ever end up close we will make the effort to go back again.

The "outdoor/patio" seating is fully enclosed with no air flow. It appears that there is a garage door and barn door and windows that open. We were there on a 75 degree day in October that was the most gorgeous weather I have experienced recently. None of those "outdoor" options were open so the "patio" seating was fully enclosed and indoors. Such a shame. The food was fine but the service was atrocious. We ordered fairly soon after arriving, within less than 10 minutes. We received our cocktails promptly. We received our appetizer 55 minutes after we ordered! We received our entrees 80 minutes after we ordered! We received our dessert 1 hour and 45 minutes after we ordered! We received the bill 2 hours after we ordered! Luckily we were not in a rush to go anywhere, but I was not planning to spend over 2 hours there. We had a 5:45pm reservation and arrived a few minutes early. I'm not sure what was going on but I would never eat there again; the food is not worth that kind of wait.

It was my Daughters birthday and we where traveling through the Shenandoah mountains and let let her pick a restaurant to celebrate her birthday. She picked the Ivy Inn. We had set up reservations early in the week. I strongly suggest getting reservations. The staff and waiter where top notch. The menu is farm to table. The waiter went over the menu and made wine suggestions for pairing with your dinner. From appetizers to the main course was excellent. The menu changes weekly so what we ate may not be on the menu in the future. All desserts are made therein the restaurant. The specialty is rack of lamb, we where told that the owner is of Greek origin. I would invite anyone to go to their website ivyinnresturant.com and look at their menu. The waiter was excellent and very prompt can not say enough.

This was our second trip to the Ivy Inn. We went with a group of friends and neighbors for my husband's birthday at the end of June. Our first trip was fairly good and Inn itself is quite pretty. The patio is nice, but gets quite warm because the small fans they have in the corners don't move much air. The patio is similar to a garage, in that it has a door that opens the end up. They do provide you with a small fan to put on your table, but it isn't very effective. Unless the weather is cool, it is pretty stifling outside. Although it is still warm out, we decided to try a second time. This will be our last. It's too bad, because we are new to this area and have frequent visitors and guests coming to visit and enjoyed the idea of a nice, local venue. We ordered meals from a very delightful server and assumed there would be no issues... we were quite wrong. My daughter's boyfriend ordered a salad and asked if he could add grilled chicken to the dish. The server told him yes. This seemed like a normal request, and we have all done this on many occasions. She did not mention the charge we would encounter. We finished our meals and were given the check. On the check we were charged for a full chicken entree as well as a salad ($29 +$10). When my husband asked about the extra entree, we were told that was the price for adding a half a chicken breast to a salad. The salad's price was now almost 40$. We inquired, but we were treated as though we were out-of-place for even asking. This was a special occasion, and we just left shaking our heads... https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g57592-d416577-r915929802-The_Ivy_Inn_Restaurant-Charlottesville_Virginia.html#

To be the number one restaurant one must greet its guests graciously, have the best service, a lovely ambiance and of course absolutely wonderful food. The Ivy Inn meets and exceeds these requirements. We were visiting the area for our anniversary and were greeted by name with a glass of champagne and our anniversary year written on our menu. We felt special and the evening only continued to impress us. Just wonderful....

This little restaurant is adorable, quaint and quiet. We had a party of 7 ladies 3 were turning 40, and we were coming for a celebration dinner. Apparently we were a little loud as the manager had to come and tell us “that couples were celebrating their anniversary if we could be respectful.” Very kind about it and I almost agree we were probably laughing and cutting up more than the large birthday party next to us. Food is great but I would say this is not a place for girls weekend dinner. We ended up bringing our cake back to the hotel to finish the celebration, even our whispers felt loud on the patio. I would totally recommend this place for a anniversary romantic celebration. Service was amazing!
