Mahesh Thakur: I see myself as an actor who is still growing
Being an actor has taught me to be forgiving because we constantly change roles and move ahead: Mahesh Thakur
Even though Mahesh Thakur started his career as an actor, now he is an author, producer and businessman as well. He is currently seen in the show Mere Sai - Shraddha Aur Saburi and he is enjoying his stint. “In my real life too, I am a believer of Sai Baba and I believe in him since childhood,” shares Mahesh.
Mahesh started his career in the 1990s and even today he feels that he is still learning.
“I think I have just started my career. The only thing which has increased is my experience. I always say that I have been blessed with opportunities to play different types of roles and these have helped me enhance my skills over these years. I see myself as an actor who is still growing,” shares Mahesh.
He further adds, “I have played a variety of roles in my career. If there is a spectrum then I have covered most of it. That is why now I want to play more challenging characters. Something which can make a difference.”
Be it the television show Sasural Genda Phool or Bollywood movie Hum Saath-Saath Hai: We Stand United, Mahesh is happy with the roles he has played. The medium doesn't matter to him anymore. He says, "The audience is closest to my heart. They are just distributed between web shows, television and films. So, the medium doesn’t really matter. Today Sachin Tendulkar is a television star because people have watched him play on TV the most and not many have gone to the stadium to see him. If the audience loves you, then you will always have work.”
On the personal front, ask him what the real Mahesh is like and he reveals that he is a very forgiving person.
“I am someone who doesn’t hold any grudge against anyone. I feel life is about forgiving and moving ahead. Forgiving is very difficult but it is necessary. Being an actor has taught me this because we constantly change roles and move ahead,” Mahesh signs off.
