I love getting together with my book club.
It’s a great way to catch up with friends.
My group is a bit more casual than others insofar as we don’t all read the book every month but still attend the parties!
There is usually a book discussion at every gathering, but we make it so that if you didn’t read the book, you can still attend the party.

Supper Club
We’ve been having a great time with our supper club and this month we are getting together for a book club brunch.
If you are coming from Rachel at the Ponds Farmhouse, welcome to my home. I’m thrilled you dropped by.
In case you are new here, I’m Stacy, a self-taught master gardener who lives and gardens in northern New Jersey, zone 6a.
We recently moved to a beautiful 1850 Farmhouse with 10 acres of gardens, sculptures and statues.
I’ve been gardening for over 20 years and enjoy helping beginner gardeners find their inner green thumb, as well as discover a love for all things plants and flowers. I love to bring the outdoors inside my home too.

How to Host a Book Club Party
Throwing a book club-themed dinner party can be a fun and unique way to celebrate a new book or discuss a recent read with friends.
Here are some steps to help you plan and host a successful book club dinner party:
Choose a Book
The first step is to select a book that everyone in the group is interested in reading and discussing.
Consider choosing a book that has a strong theme or message that can spark interesting conversation.
Whoever is hosting book club gets to pick the book in my group.
Do you have a specific genre of book you enjoy reading?
I love a good page turner where you don’t put the book down until the very end. So suspense is more my speed.
Invite Guests
Once you have chosen a book, invite your guests to the book club dinner party.
Make sure to specify that they should read the book in advance so they can participate in the discussion.
Plan the Menu
Next, think about the food and drinks you will serve at the party.
Consider choosing dishes that are inspired by the book or that fit with its theme.
For example, if the book takes place in a specific country or culture, you could serve dishes from that region.
Set the Stage
Create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for your guests.
Set the table with nice linens and decorate with book-themed accents, such as candles or book-shaped centerpieces.
Start the Discussion
Once everyone has arrived and settled in, begin the book discussion.
You can start by asking questions about the book or asking each person to share their thoughts and reactions.
Be prepared to facilitate the discussion and keep it on track, but also allow for free-flowing conversation.
Have Fun
Above all, remember to relax and enjoy the evening with your friends.
A book club brunch or dinner party is a great opportunity to connect with others over a shared love of literature and good food.
Setting the Table for Book Club
I had to really think about this one and love how it turned out!
As I’m craving simplicity lately, I decided to go with less is more and add a little bit of color this month.
And this whole table was designed using things I already have on hand. When you collect a few key pieces, it’s easier to pull multiple looks together without a whole lot of work.
Here’s how I made the centerpiece.
Dining Table Centerpiece for Book Club
Since we’re going to be doing a lot of chatting here, I wanted to keep the centerpiece simple, yet elegant.
I covered the table with a creamy white tablecloth, added a lace runner and my daughter’s Shabby Chic quilt from when they were babies.
It decorated the nursery more than anything, but I kept it all these years and love that soft pretty flower pattern.
To make the centerpiece, I grabbed a few vintage books from the library and stacked some faux kalanchoe houseplants and my Lenox vase with faux asparagus fern foliage.
I created a little height, texture, and dimension by stacking the books at different levels but kept them low enough so we can still chat about the book.
How easy is that!
Setting the Table for Book Club
To set the table for book club, I grabbed these scalloped chargers. And then added my dinner and salad Lenox plates with a pretty linen napkin.
Because we enjoy a little cocktail at our book club get-togethers, I set the table with both water and wine lead crystal goblets.
And I love these cute cutlery pouches, don’t you? It’s the perfect way to hold the fork, knife, and spoon for a casual meal.
To add a little more bling to the table, I added my vintage candles sticks with beautiful crystals. And tucked in a few of mini-gold lanterns for fun!
