About the author
Jane Corry is a prize-winning author and journalist (Daily Telegraph and women's magazines) who worked for three years as the writer in residence of a high security male prison. This experience helped inspire her Sunday Times Penguin bestsellers 'My Husband's Wife', 'Blood Sisters', 'The Dead Ex', 'I Looked Away', 'I Made A Mistake', 'To Tell The Truth', 'The Lies We Tell', 'We All Have Our Secrets' and 'Coming To Find You'. She has now sold over 1.5 million copies of her books world-wide.
Jane worked as an RLF Fellow at Exeter University and is a former creative writing tutor at Oxford University. She also writes short stories; features for The Daily Telegraph and speaks at literary festivals all over the world. Many of her ideas strike during morning dog-jogs along the beach followed by a dip in the sea - no matter how cold it is!
Jane's latest novel 'Coming To Find You' reached number 7 in the Sunday Times in 2023 and is also published by Doubleday in the USA and Canada. Her new book I DIED ON A TUESDAY comes out this June (Penguin).

Fast paced story. Some really good, well constructed characters. You know you are invested in a story when you get frustrated at the characters for decisions they make or conversations they should have but don't!
Will definitely be reading more from this author
The final forty percent of the book continues on from Freddie’s bombshell and the opposing attitudes of Sarah and Tom. Sarah, who has indulged and forgiven her son everything does not hesitate in wanting to protect him, but Tom has other ideas and Sarah’s attempt to protect him from the full force of the law plays out in this second part. For me the novel went slightly awry at this point and proved far less compelling with the narrative meandering all over the place, things not ringing true and the suspense dissipating. Whilst the reader gets to know Sarah and Tom as individual characters all we learn about Freddie are the opinions of his parents all of which are heavily biased towards Sarah’s views. Freddie feels more like a name than a conceivable character and I found it difficult to care about his fate or how it impacted upon Sarah. Whilst I felt that Tom was uptight to the point where it was hard to believe he was even living in the same generation as Sarah, let alone had married her, I found the story of their union and looking in objectively on their relationship fascinating. After this solid groundwork I was disappointed that the novel never fulfilled its potential and the moral dilemma element felt significantly watered down as the story unfolded.

The way she weaves the motives, history, and dysfunction of a family into a thriller is quite the skill.
Ask yourself the question, what would you do to save your child? How far would you go? Would you lie for them? Would you sacrifice relationships, your own ambitions, and more?
Sarah and Freddie could be any of us and that’s one reason why this book is so compelling. That, and the skilful plotting that will keep you wondering how it will turn out in the end.
Well done, Jane. You’ve delivered another cracker!
