Posting Items for Sale in Multiple Cities

I need to list items on Marketplace in different cities. For example, a couch in Chicago, (helping a friend), and a bookcase in Brooklyn. I appropriately set the location of each item. So when I add a new item and it is in a city different than my previous items, FB goes and changes the location of ALL my previous items! Maddening and very confusing to the buyer. Anyone else experience that? Thoughts on how to get this to work? Is it possible to list items for sale in more than one location? I widened my location setting as a buyer. Is there somewhere else to do that as a seller? Thanks, all!

Not gracefully.

You could try and join a few "for sale" groups based in the cities you want to sell in.. but your location will still say where you chose to set it from.. which will lead to a bunch of people posting "why the fuck are you posting in our group, we're in <x> and you're in <y>.

Thank you. My point isn't posting in multiple cities. It's why does FB automatically change the location of some items for sale when posting in multiple cities. Thoughts?

because its a poorly designed platform.

FB may be the worlds largest (2nd? 3rd?) company.. but I just can't see the crew designing MP is that large.. theres -zero- customer support, even as they roll out shipping / payment options. Bugs are rife, as are scams on the shipping/payment side. They add some features for some people and not to others.. shit that works today may not work tomorrow. They've announced on the official group on at least 2 occasions that "We will now require buyers to return goods before you refund them!" .. and they've forgotten they said it each time and just randomly give buyers money back.

Theres very little documentation. A while back they launched a "mass listing" option. When you clicked the button that (from memory) said "download template" to use the option.. you ended up with an excel file in comma separated values format.

No explanation of what the fuck to do with it, how to add photos, nothing. Just an excel file.

They have 1 official "FB Marketplace for Sellers" group staffed by FB people. It can take ~3 weeks for a post you make to be approved by Admins.. and you will -never- get an answer to an issue. The Admins pop in every week or two or three and post some "team building" garbage like "Tell us your favorite item to sell!" and then disappear.

Search function is trash, no boolean operators, cant specify locations only a wide area..

Theres one, single, coder / manager type who pops in and asks for a little more detail on this bug and that once in awhile.. but even he doesnt generally answer questions.

The upside? Its got more eyes on it than anywhere else. So you suck it up and hope you dont get stuck with the "zero views" problem or randomly banned and hope you can get your account back.

Well, I sincerely appreciate your thoughtful and detailed response. While, deflated, I'm inclined to believe everything you wrote. It's a big part of my business. Which means, I can only sell in one city at a time. Time to think this this through! Thank you again.
