The Sweetshop signs director Rami Hachache for APAC representation

The Sweetshop has added the multi-talented Rami Hachache to their director’s roster, for representation in Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

“We are absolutely delighted to have Rami on team Sweetshop”, says Jenny Crabb, EP at The Sweetshop Asia, “he is not only a fantastic director with a sharp eye for detail, but a seriously funny guy with an ability to expand the comedy in scripts tenfold! The cherry on top is that he is just a lovely, wonderful person to work with, Penny and I are looking forward to our next project together”

Hachache co-created the social media sensation, ‘Kirby Jenner’ – Kendall Jenner’s elusive, imaginary fraternal twin. After the Instagram account, which was originally started as a fun visual exercise, took on a life of it’s own with a huge pick up on socials, Hachache was brought on to direct and executive produce “Kirby Jenner” an 8 episode scripted reality comedy series for Quibi alongside Kendall and Kris Jenner who also executive produced the show.

Hachache’s journey into the world of filmmaking is far from conventional. Coming from a Lebanese family who immigrated to the United States when he was just a toddler, Hachache recounts his early years as being marked by constant movement and chaos.

“I’ve always loved TV and all things comedy,” says Rami. “Those cartoon intros and cheesy one-liners were transformative.”

Hachache’s career to date has been fueled by a lifelong fascination with humour, where he weaves his comedic magic into commercial campaigns for global brands like Converse, Target, Old Navy, and Southwest Airlines.

“I’ve been a fan of The Sweetshop for years and am excited to collaborate with them!” added Hachache.

Hachache has a deep love for both comedy and long form, his latest project is a Netflix series with comedian Tom Segura, a six episode dark comedy series that Hachache will co-write, direct, and executive produce, his third collaboration with Segura.

Melanie Bridge, co-CEO of The Sweetshop, said: “Rami is a treasure trove of funny mixed in with a beautiful commercial eye, we are so excited to have persuaded him to join The Sweetshop”
