Great record. It's basically https://www.discogs.com/master/9917 with Toyah on voice. And I don't think she's ripping Laurie Anderson at all. If you listen to them side by side you'll see they are nothing alike.referencing Kneeling At The Shrine (CD, Album) EEG 2101-2
I'll agree with most of the reviews here: This is a fantastic album. It's unlike anything else, really, with the possible exception of Toyah - Ophelia's Shadow, as others have noted. Another possible precedent might be Robert Fripp / The League Of Gentlemen (2) - The League Of Gentlemen. A lot of this music is very danceable, in the same weird way that album is.- Edited 2 years ago

Definitely not an album of dedication and songs of praise, thank god. But seriously, this is a wild and weird one off that boasts a strangely captivating style all it's own. FYI, Ophelia's Shadow could easily be considered a companion album, and is well worth a listen. referencing Kneeling At The Shrine (CD, Album) EEG 2101-2
I really like this album!
A shame they didn't made more...referencing Kneeling At The Shrine (CD, Album) EEG 2101-2
A very good album. Stunning musicianship. Excellent pressing on vinyl. (Crimson and Fripp hat removed for these comments). 81-84 style Crimson album with Toyah singing, sums it up.referencing Kneeling At The Shrine (CD, Album) EEG 2101-2
I am a big fan of this record... to each his own I guess.referencing Kneeling At The Shrine (CD, Album) EEG 2101-2
My copy has an AVL promo sticker on the rear of the crystal case which gives a release date of "15 April 1991".
Of course, the release may well have been delayed until May 7.referencing Kneeling At The Shrine (CD, Album) EEG 2101-2
First off... I am a huge Fripp fan - But this release, all the way around, is really lacking. For starters, Toyah's poor excuse of a Laurie Anerson art rock is absolutely abysmal. At best this is a failed attempt at a copy of something from 1979 - at worse its a horrid example of plagiarism. Of course the musicians are right on target. But it's reminiscent of Summers and Fripp music from nearly 10 years earlier. A must for collectors, a waste of time for everyone else.
