Who is Stanley Reames? Meet Janet Leigh second husband

Stanley Reames was the second husband of Janet Leigh.

Stanley Harold Reames, born on August 6, 1923, in the heartland of Kansas City, Missouri, was the son of Virgil Ewan Reames and Edith Claire Gardner Reames.

Stanley’s early years in Missouri laid the foundation for a life that would intersect with the glitz of Tinseltown.

A salesman by profession, he became a familiar face in the Jackson area, leaving an unforgettable mark on the community he called home for 12 years.

Enrolled in the U.S. Navy’s V-12 Program, Stanley’s journey led him to a chance encounter with Janet Leigh, then a university student. Their connection blossomed into marriage on October 6, 1945.

Their marriage, however, was short-lived, and they divorced in 1949.

Following their divorce, Stanley Reames and Janet Leigh traversed separate paths. Stanley went into a second marriage with Virginia Reames, embracing a life centered around family and community. He immersed himself in organizations like the Mississippi Walking Horse Association and the Masons.

Reames died on October 17, 1985 at age 62 in Jackson, Hinds County, Mississippi, United States.

Reames was survived by his wife Virginia Reames, sons; Jess Reames, Kirk Reames, Dale Reames and Jim Reames and daughters, Lilian Burnet, Rhonda Reames and Edith Reames.
