Turok: O Filho da Pedra, טורוק: בן האבן, Turok, a kő fia, 磐石之子, Турок. Затерянный мир
When most people hear the word "Turok" they think of the video game series. However many people don't know that before the video games there was a comic series dating back to 1954 created by Paul S. Newman. I bring this up because Turok: Son of Stone brought the IP back to its comic roots with an animated straight-to-video film adaption and a title referencing the first issue of the comics. Heck, Tony Bedard one of the writing credits even wrote issues #17-19 of Turok in 1996.
But enough about Turok's history, let's get into the film itself. Right off the bat Turok: Son of Stone is very well animated with fast paced action scenes and bloodshed. The characters in…
I thought this was really well done
Felt like the comic book I've read a little of, and translated nice to animation. I'm not as familiar with the video games-.but if you're into those, you'll probably enjoy this.
Dinos ftw, not guns.
Paid for by the Dinosaur Hunters and Processors of the Lost Valley. "Dinosaur: It's What's For Dinner."
This movie was great! Brutal as hell, I was skeptical when I saw screenshots but after watching it and watching Turok stab the hell out of some dinosaurs was metal! I’ll definitely watch this again.
A straight up fantasy scifi adventure story thats unapolagetically pulp. Its straight to the point and direct in its characterization of its cast, Turok included. But it is effective and with straighforward progression makes for an entertaining action film. Also: dinosaurs & prehistoric beasts are spot on.
wowowowow, WOW. i was not ready for that. i always have had a great admiration for animations that can do bloodshed (namely invincible, injustice), so i was absolutely astonished. this is another series i am unfamiliar with. the editing was kinda lackadaisical, it could stand to be improved. but wow. pleasantly surprised!

Turok Son of Stone is based more on the comic series which predates the Iconic Video Games. The movie itself returns to its roots and does a very good job showcasing it's fast filled with actual Native Americans to give it more believability and authenticity which is a plus.
Also it has lots of bloodshed for what feels like an Adult Saturday Morning Cartoon for the most part and enjoyed it for what it is.
Seen Via YouTube.
Saw a YouTube comment that said, “I like how it starts off like a Disney kinda cartoon then goes full 300.” This looks like something that would be on Adult Swim. Comic/video game movie, not high art but not as horrible as I was expecting.
Will occasionally elevate itself with a dazzling, trance-like sequence of animation. These visceral moments seem to deliver a stark manifesto:
The brave and the united are strong. And only the strong shall survive.
Truthfully, this flies through so much plotting and character progression in such a tight window that it comes across as razor-thin at best and nonsensical at worst.
But even if it is just nonsense, it at least has the grace to be thoroughly metal. Seriously, this just goes nuts every so often.
Feels very much like an unintentional (?) precursor to Primal.
