Worth is subjective. But Retail is the most played.

would you say retail is enjoyable right now? assuming you've played It

•

That depends on what you like. That's why there's different versions.

I only like playing retail. Some people only like classic.

Different strokes for different folks

haha I feel you. just been forever since ive played retail wow and it feels like there's so much in the game now id be lost

•

Yeah that can happen. Specially Quests midway through an expansion. But retail has the most content of all of them. Also the later you start the more content there will be 😂

There’s definitely a lot, but imo the game does a good job of helping you decide what to do to get you caught up to the current expansion. Can’t say how straightforward it stays once you hit (max lvl -10) tho

Personally, Retail is way more enjoyable and chill to me, and a big reason for that is that the Classic community is kinda trash. In nearly 20 years of playing WoW I've never met more wanna-be elitists who straight up suck at the game on fundamental levels than in Classic. It's like Classic just attracts that sort of player, like a moth to a flame. At least in Retail, the annoying players are more likely one or the other, not both at the same time, and they are more easily avoided.

And it sucks the fun out of the game. I couldn't even enjoy Ulduar, probably the best raid in all of Classic, because people were more focused on everything but the very basic mechanics. Like a whole raid group going above and beyond when it comes to min/maxing their character, and throwing fits to get the best gear, while thinking they were all god's gift to Classic, but then some how failing to avoid something as basic as Mimiron's bombs, not once but multiple times in multiple resets.

I play retail with my wife when the kid goes to bed and then I play hardcore when she’s asleep and I can get myself killed and blame nobody else but me. I enjoy both classic and retail. But retail is definitely the most played by far.

Hardcore has like 5 people in it standing on a hill of 9 billion dead bodies. Or at least that is how I imagine it

Retail, then SOD, then WOTLK rightnow in
